UK DVD release of Ready for This?
The UK recording of ‘Ready for This?’ is due to be released on DVD, 15th November 2010. It will be available from all good retailers and it can be pre-ordered online at the usual places and hopefully some unusual ones as well. It will also be available from the shop on this site here…eventually.
It will contain a songbook, just as the Australian version did, but whether it will be the same or something different is still to be confirmed. As more information becomes available it will be posted here. This is the same show as the Australian release but recorded in London for the UK audience and those dedicated worldwide types who would like both versions.
The blurb on Play.com says: “Filmed live at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo, London, this massive show contains Minchin’s unique take on musical comedy, spanning topics such as his love of boobs and banging on about rationalism whilst playing the piano rather nicely in a pair of uncomfortably tight jeans.”
I would say this is a fair assessment but it could have been written: “Filmed live, in front of an appropriately excitable crowd, at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo, London, this spectacular show features Minchin’s massive hair, accompanying his expressive eyes, naked feet and unique take on musical comedy: spawning topics such as rationalism, environmentalism, prejudice(ism) and his amour de boobs(ism). He plays the piano, always nicely and oftentimes wildly and excitingly, whilst looking athletic, in a pair of delightfully uncomfortable skinny jeans.”
and this might be why I don’t get to write the blurb…
Oooh I Forgot To Add, You Should Play Plymouth Pavillions!! Else We’ll Have To Go To Cardiff Or Brighton :/

Oh yesssssss! Come ON! Can’t wait for the dates….
SO EXCITED! I saw the show in Reading (“It’s not a pantomime” – “Oh yes it is!” – Legendary!) It’s a real long shot I know but is there any chance that this DVD will be subtitled? I think I know the answer but I live in hope – My sister’s deaf but loves your songs after I taped the TV version of So F**king Rock with subs for her and would really love to be able to get all of your amazing lyrics!

I gave away my Australian version to my godson who’s a big fan, so looking forward to replacing it with this one in November. I’m missing it.
YES.YES.YES. Cannot wait. :D
Any chance of getting So Live out here, too?
You should totally write to/email Play.com and tell them to change it, Tim :)
And while we’re at it, can you PLEASE do a gig in your next tour in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, PLEASE?!
Cheers ;)

Just wondering if there’s any DVD extras e.g. backstage shenanigans…
To long to wait Mr Minchin!
im not relay into telling people what they should do, but Tim, you SHOULD come and do a gig in Harrogate, (North Yorkshire, UK)
I got the Australian version of ready for this sent to me in the UK, it’s a great squeal to “so f~~king rock”. I’ll most likely get the one that comes out on the 15th too. why not? Some great new songs too.
I have a man crush on you, my first ever
Can’t you get multi region players in the US? I’ve sen the Aussie release but can’t wait for the UK one. I was at the Warrington show and I’d forgotten half the songs until I saw them again! Brilliantly funny!
Yes! We love you here in the States as well!
Any chance of a version of any (all) of your DVDs formatted for play on US equipment?
