A Second Relaxed Performance of Matilda the Musical at the Cambridge Theatre!

After the huge success of last year’s relaxed performance of Matilda the Musical at the Cambridge Theatre, The RSC will be putting on a second performance on Sunday 14th June 2015 at 3pm!
They’ll once again be teaming up with the National Autistic Society and Mousetrap Theatre Projects with the aim of making the performance accessible to people with autism and learning disabilities.
This special performance will see elements of the production adapted to reduce anxiety or stress. Lighting and sound levels are adjusted to soften their impact and audience members are free to move around the auditorium during the performance. Designated ‘chill-out’ areas will be provided outside the auditorium with soft seating and activities if being in the auditorium becomes overwhelming.
Tickets are available exclusively from the theatre box office on 0844 412 4652 and the RSC ticket hotline on 0844 800 1110
Can anyone tell me if Matilda is coming to Melb?
It is indeed a shame others can’t follow this lead, you’re doing a great job Tim!
Hello, Tim. I just wanted to say how extremely greatful I am for performances like these. I love theatre a lot, and as a young carer, I am unable to see shows that aren’t suitable for my autistic brother. He can get stressed out easily and responds differently to noise. I can see the amount of time and effort and hard work it takes to put on performances like this, and I seriously can’t thank you and the team enough for giving not only autistic children like my brother opportunities to see a west end show, but also their carers who have a passion for theatre. I’m also a huge fan of your work and I would love to see you live! Again, thank you.
How very nice and thoughtful to put on such a performance and for a second time, enabling people with autism and learning difficulties to have the opportunity to learn to love and appreciate musical theatre in perfect relaxing surroundings. It is a shame others can’t follow this lead.
