Tim’s First Matilda Award Nomination!
If the thrill of an ARIA nomination wasn’t enough, Tim is up for yet another award, with this one being his first for his work on Matilda The Musical!
Specifically, Tim has been shortlisted for Best Stage Work at the British Composer Awards. He’s up against Orlando Gough, for his work on A Ring A Lamp A Thing, and Joby Talbot, for his work on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The winners will be announced on the 30th November.
This isn’t the only award Matilda The Musical is up for at the moment, with it being up for Best Musical Production, and Bertie Carvel being up for Best Performance in a Musical at the Theatre Awards UK! Winners for those will be announced on the 30th October.
As if you needed another reason or three to book your tickets to see it!
OMG! Are you Sophia Kiely?! I am such a big fan! OMG! I wanted to audition but I was too tall. I can’t believe it’s you!
Sorry Georgia but they are really strict. I remember on my first audition they measured me, and one kid was 4FT 25 IN and they said she would be too tall by the time they picked the Matildas. I know it’s sad, but try out for another musical. I was 4 FT 1 IN when I auditioned when I left I was 4 FT 3 IN.

the show was a total dazzler, the first musical i have actually been to, and i picked a GEM!@! coolio:))
Actually I am 4 ft 11
Unfortunately I am 0.7 ft too tall to be Matilda. I live in somerset – where are the next set of auditions!? If I am only a bit too tall will u let me be Matilda – I know all the songs!! Being in a West end musical would be a dream come true!! But I am 4.9 ft but dont live near London so cannot play another part!! Have Cleo, Sophia, Eleanor and Kerry grown much – if so is it a lot or not??
I saw the dress rehearsal with Cleo Demietriou as Matilda – I also saw Adrianna Bertola in Stratford in 2010!! It was nice to meet you in London – Matilda the musical is awesome!!

I want Matilda the musical to come to Australia so i can audition. It is the bees knees! Love. Your. Work.
Awesome! My CD arrived a couple of weeks back and I love it. I hope like crazy this eventually makes it to Australia. Tim, you deserve every award they can think of to heap on you!
I’m listening to the cast recording right now – just downloaded from iTunes Australia – $16 was the best bet – the CD was gonna be $50 shipped from the UK! Some great tunes in here – thanks Tim. Can’t imagine any of the others are as good as this!
Good luck, Tim xx
Congratulations Tim! Really hope Matilda the Musical comes to Australia!
