Roald Dahl + Tim Minchin = heaven. The songs had me in tears (laughter and sadness) – When I Grow Up captured the essence of childhood’s greatest dream of ‘growing up’. For my children it was just a song about growing up but for me it made me think do we ever really grow up? Loved the show, my favourite so far – would really love to see it again x

I have become a recent fan of this Tim Minchin fella, as we say in Vermont, USA. Heard him first on talk radio. Enjoy his wit, knowledge of the world we think we live in. He is the tops! This Matilda song writing gig? Just the beginning of a long, prosperous career, I’ll bet.

Well deserved! I want Adrianna back as Matilda! Although the new Matilda’s are amazing and deserve the praise! I saw this in Stratford and London – the Matilda’s I saw were Adrianna and Cleo. Every single person connected to Matilda (Lighting, directing, cast, lyrics, script e.t.c.) is AMAZING! I wish everyone in the world had the chance to see Matilda….. I’ve got a Matilda t-shirt and CD and LOVE them both more than anyone or anything! Matilda should carry on until…… well, forever!

@Jane Malick…A friend bought me a copy of the Cast Recording and it’s a singable thrill throughout. It also inspired me to buy the book, since I didn’t know how the songs connected to the plot.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the critics were right: Dennis Kelly’s additions to the story make it better than the original. Really good stuff, done well!!

Congratulations on the 9 nominations!!! I am thrilled that Tim’s brilliance is being recognized. I have only heard a few songs from Matilda the Musical and yet I am already singing them throughout the day.
Since I live in the U.S.and a visit to the U.K. is not in my immediate future,I have a very long wait before seeing it but I am feeling celebratory about Tim’s exciting and wonderful success!

Matlida is a wonderful musical and deserves every last bit of the high praise it is getting across several categories. You have my vote. x
