USA and Canada: A 13-city North American Unfunny* tour this August!

An Unfunny* Evening With Tim Minchin And His Piano
USA and Canada: The tour you’ve been clamouring for! Tim’s Unfunny* shows sold out across the UK and Australia… and he’ll be playing a 13-city North American Unfunny* tour this August, kicking off 3rd August 2024 in Vancouver, with the final show 25th August in New York.
Tim: “It has been over a decade since I played solo in the States, and I’m SO fkn excited to be back. Nothing compares to US audiences.”
The setlist will be fluid and the shows will have more of an unplanned intimate ‘evening with’ vibe as Tim chats about his songwriting and performs songs drawn from his 2020 studio album, Apart Together, his musicals, Matilda and Groundhog Day, his TV and film writing and from his early song-writing days around the turn of the century.
*the promoter can’t guarantee the artist will not inadvertently amuse.

Tim!!! When are you going to bring civilization to Memphis, TN, USA? We surely do need YOUR not-so-common-sense sense and an even greater array of musical performance here! +1 (spouse) introduced me to your music when I was deathly ill, and has spent more time over the past fifteen years trying to buoy my spirits that he’s neglected much of what makes *him* whole. I’d be so willing to mask up and risk it just to see him so delighted. Come visit – soon!
L in Memphis
*Can I say that “White Wine in the Sun” causes me to, every single time I hear it, stop dead in my tracks, sit, and deeply appreciate the losses and gains in our families all the more? I’m not shy that I’ve never been able – not once – to sing the whole thing along with you for the tears, both happy and sad. Also, your JCS performance knocks the socks off any other actor in that role!!!
I am here in Toronto tonight to see you! Please play falling apart together for Ben and Margaret. We are innour fifties and this isnour song!!:)
We’ll be seeing Tim on Tuesday in Toronto and we can’t be more excited! We live in the middle of nowhere Canada (Saskatchewan for those who do know), summer plans included getting to southern Ontario to visit grandkids and going to France check in on again and ailing parents (in law) . . . we were putting off pulling plans together until daughter in southern Ont sent us the announcement of this tour with “Any chance you can be in Toronto on August 20?” and the chance to see TM in TO rather than travelling halfway around the world (something we’ve looked into!) brought the summer into focus!
It’s been fun telling people we’re going to the #1 practically only ever dreamt of concert and having almost everyone give a blank stare when it’s named (there was 1 guy from Australia who was excited for us!) I’ve been considering setting up a page with something like top ten Tim videos to give people an entry point but have mostly just spelled his name, tailoring recommendations to the audience, frequently the Confirmation Bias Rant and the 9 Life Lessons WMA Commencement, mentioning Matilda and 4 Tonys and saying just about any other song (are there “misses”? Not for me!) or full concert with a language warning for “The Pope Song” (which I figure makes them go to that first!)
Yup! So excited! (bet you can tell!) 2 more sleeps!!
We went to your show in Austin last night and it was absolutely phenomenal. My husband Mike (a statistician) and I (generally a data junkie) got married about 11 years ago and we joked at the time that our wedding song would be If I Didn’t Have You (in fact, since he was almost an hour late to the wedding, I did consider for a moment that someone else would do). We didn’t have a traditional wedding and didn’t have a wedding song or a first dance, but when people ask about our wedding, we always explain why that would have been the perfect choice.
Last year he was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a nasty brain cancer that normally kills people pretty quickly (5 year survival rate is in the 20% range, most folks don’t get through 18 months after diagnosis). While it’s considered terminal, we’re lucky that he’s doing extremely well right now in treatment and we’re confident he’ll outlast the 18-month death knell – that didn’t stop me from bawling like a baby when you sang You Grew On Me and Apart Together.
I just wanted to tell you that your performance was amazing and so meaningful to use, and we felt so lucky that we got to see you on tour and while Mike was still well enough to enjoy it. Please come back to Austin – we love you when you’re funny, we love you when you’re unfunny, we just love you!
My sister, Nancy Hanlon, and I will be attending the Minneapolis show together. This is super meaningful for us as 3 years ago I didn’t know she existed! She was given up for adoption 2 years before I was born. We are both senior citizens whose siblings and parents have passed so it feels miraculous that she found me and we are attending my favorite artist’s show together! Bringing my hanky as I’m sure I will cry a bit! I’m over the moon excited!
Flying to Minneapolis from Phoenix Arizona for your August 21st show! Thank you for your North American tour!
It’s the 4th. You’re on my continent! (Yes, it’s mine! LOL.) Hope you traveled safely and well and stay healthy and happy until you get here to Minneapolis!
I wish you were coming to Phoenix, AZ. Consider us next time!
I wish he was coming to Atlanta! Or within like 6 hours drive. Would love to see him live and with metastatic cancer I don’t know if I’ll be here still when he ever comes again!
Lucky folk in the relevant cities- enjoy!!!
Been a fan of yours for literally half my life. Getting an opportunity to see you live in Boston has me stoked. Can’t wait!
For the love of all that’s holy (or not) please visit this Canadian in Chicago!
Please, oh please, add Chicago.
We’re a good gang and after the hot mess that will be the Democratic National Convention in August, we’ll desperately need a song, laughter and light.
If there’s anything you want us Midwesterners to do to help promote the Minneapolis show (I know there’s still lots of time to sell out on your own), we are open to suggestions. I’m retired, baby. I got all the time in the world.
My bucket list! See you @ Massey Hall. And thank you. This is literally a day I have been dreaming of! (And your version of Hallelujah that night with the wine in that corner of that bar I wish I could have been in at the time – was the best ever!!)
Got my tickets for NYC. My wife and 14 year old son are willing to go, even though they say I have an unhealthy obsession with Tim. I’m quite sure they will develop this obsession too, or I will have to beat them with sacks of comedy oranges.
OMG, I have been waiting forever for you to come to BC! My friend got tickets for us to go for my birthday the day they went on sale, and I am SOOO excited!!
Thank you for including Minneapolis. If we get Absence Of You and Seeing You that would be a huge win. Are they coming at a later time from the rest? Anyway, I am going to bus tours from ny.
Thank you for including Minneapolis! If we get Absence Of You and Seeing You – that would be a huge win ???? hell, just being there is a huge win already, who am I kidding!
Yes!!! I acquired my tickets! My long term plan was to see you in Australia but now I get to see you twice!! Looking forward to it.
Thanks for making ticket prices so affordable (although I have yet to get any purchased. One hour to go! Dear Lord. I am not allowed to double my BP meds. LOL)
OMG I have been waiting for this my whole life (actually since I’ve known about TM)
Thank you for coming to Denver!!! Our lives will be complete!
I never read the endless stream of emails ticketmaster sends, but today, for some unknown reason, THANKFULLY, I did. Cannot wait for August 10th — this is the first show I have wanted to see in years!
At last… can’t wait to see Tim live again! I’ll be at the Dallas show. And maybe the NYC one too ????
I’ll give you more money for VIP options, just an idea
SO SAD!!!
Only one show in the Midwest, and I can’t make it. Michigan misses you!!
Hi Shell!
I just found out that Our Tim is coming to Toronto in August! I’m so excited!
I’m a Minchkin and I’ve waited longingly for this opportunity to see Tim live!!!!!!
Thank you so very much! <3
Do you know the price for Toronto tickets
We’ve been WAITING FOR THIS!!! I’m “all-in” for the Los Angeles show! Will there be a Minchkins Meetup in L.A.? Can’t wait to hear Tim say “LO-s AN-gel-lees” ????
I managed to see his show in Perth in March. He puts on a show like no one else can. Especially nice in an intimate setting. Pure, unfettered Minchin. Definitely see him if you get the chance.
Hi Alison, the New York link should be working now and the main Presale link at the top has all venues. Shell????♀️x
That is an ambitious schedule. He will be exhausted by the 25th (20th Toronto then 21 Minneapolis, for example). Looking forward to the concert
Hello,
Will there be concert dates for Montreal, Canada?
I can’t see the New York town hall tickets available anywhere? Are they coming at a later time from the rest?
Can you hear that sound? That would be me screaming, “TIM MINCHIN IS COMING TO SEATTLE!!” OMG. HFS. JFC. I’m excited.
