A true original. Thank you for sharing your genius with the world; you’ve made a lifelong fan out of this American lady
My Aunty in the UK went to get her grandson a copy of ‘You so F*****g Rock’ she couldn’t bring herself to say the word to ask for it so she phoned her daughter and got her to say it over the phone!!!
My daughter turned me on to you and said, “Don’t you think grandma would have liked him?” The answer was, “Yes, she would have loved him!” My mom was a professional piano player and her favorite stuff to play was silly, old songs from the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s, but especially parodies. I grew up listening to her play crazy, little, unknown tunes, then sharing with my friends. I have so missed her and can’t begin to thank you enough for working hard to become famous so you could share this great musical niche.
I’m an agnostic in southern Oregon, USA…Maybe , I’m the only one. Today, I listened to White wine in the sun. It was the first time since I played it to the most wonderful Mum a man could ask for. She left this earth, last January. No, I don’t know where she went. But she sure did love that song. I played it for her last Christmas, when she was so ill. I just want to tell you thank you, for putting a smile and a tear to both of our faces.
I bought a park, this summer. No, its a first for me. I bought it, because Mum would have wanted me to. Mum used to swim there, with all us kids, in the best swimming hole in Oregon. . I’m naming it Merete’s Cove after my Mum.Its one of the worlds most beautiful places. I’m trying to build a beautiful bandstand there. Mum loved music. I welcome you to sing there someday. I know its a little crazy. But including you, there would be at least two Atheists near the stage. Three including my sweet daughter, Brook, who also loves your music. Maybe I dream too big……. Either way, My family will be listening to white wine in the sun, this Christmas, and thinking of Mum.
Hi Tim – My wife and I saw you in Thousand Oaks on Saturday and said “hello” afterwards. We’re the couple from Phoenix who mentioned to you that I played piano and sang at her over the Internet and in return she married me. Pretty good trade, honestly. We made it back safely, by the way. Anyway I just wanted to drop a note to say thank you for such a fantastic show, and your transformative influence on my life. I’m very very very happy to be able to say that I shook your hand, and I’m very very very sad that I declined to be in the picture that you took with my wife. Come back soon!

Hey Tim&Co.
I first saw u(tim) @ moorabbin town hall in 05 and was soooooo fu***ng impressed-u r a genius. My sister thinks ur weird and even though i sort of agree, i still think u r awsome-kEEP IT UP.
Hey hey tim, the donut shop that I work at (Puffin Fresh Whitfords City, Perth) just started distributing Canvas Bags. Well not canvas as such, but those big reusable hard plasticy ones. I’m not too sure what they’re actually made of, but I’m very glad, because I was previously getting told off by my boss for not offering customers plastic bags to put their multiple donuts in. ‘It can’t be that hard to just *carry* them, guys, Do it for the environment.’ But apparently there’s no room for environmental friendliness in the world of donut retail.
Well g2g, I’m off to work :D
was the photographer at your radio recording at the drill hall london on the 2 nov which was great fun…loved the song about pigs very funny, hope to catch a show at the duchess got some great shots for the bbc too!!!!
To Blake:
I really meant that i dont think
We get circumsised
You get circumsised
Why not get circumsised togethor would sound as good as.
We dont eat pigs etc.
Maybe i was wrong…
Your music has been with me through some tough times in America. I am a Black woman. I don’t have much hope for changing my stars. But hearing your excellent voice rock n rolling my troubles away… at least for a day… keeps me sane. I know you do the same for millions around the world. It was my birthday a few days ago. I turned 46. I hope to see you live again before I reach 50. I promised my niece (she’s always challenging me) that I would chase one dream this year. I hope I don’t sound too weird when I say, I want to sit in that future audience of Minchin fans and scream my head off for you again. My humble dream. Much love from Portland, Oregon USA.
Thanks for the positive in this sea of controversy. I liked your message so much I bought the book!
Hi Tim. Mike from Tampa here. Once you hit 70, you start thinking of things you’d like to do while you still can. My daughter and I saw your NYC TM & his Piano and London Songs the World Will Never Hear shows. Hard to to top that. Then it hit me. Dream big! Would you consider bringing back your Royal Albert Hall Orchestra show? I’m a tennis player. Your NYC and London shows coincided with the US Open and Wimbledon. It was much easier selling going across the pond to my velp, if I also got to attend one of the majors. Thanks. Mike
I’m thankful you came to Toowoomba. Watching real people with really amazing talent was a blast of fresh air, blowing away the junk that builds up from scrolling. Phew, you came in time. Thanks again xxxx
Dearest Tim, I just wanted to post a thank you / congratulations, to you and your team on the end of your tour; the gig in Toowoomba was the perfect finale! Thank you for sharing your new work with us tonight, we could all see what it meant to you, although I did have a pretty good view of your celebratory Hi-5 during the next number. I am just hoping that tonight you felt the love of an entire generation of students, from one of those special tax exempt organisations, here in Toowoomba. Starting them with ‘Storm’ in the middle years Philosophy elective, and always ending with your UWA speech for the Yr 12’s…I’m not saying that you are a ‘tool’, but you know what? You were a great tool! Someone, whose intelligence and wit opened the eyes of a generation, and more importantly, gave hope to those who thought, or were at a minimum, interested in thinking… Love your work – its importance simply can’t be measured!
Hi Tim, I was listening to White Wine in the Sun again today. It pops up in my social media memories all the time because I’ve shared it so much over the years. My Dad really loved Christmas — he loved having everyone around him. He passed away in 2019, on the 17th of December, at 80 years of age. He just wanted to make it to one more Christmas. Upright came out that same month. The song Carry You, and the series itself, absolutely broke me… but somehow carried me through as well. I don’t think I really grieved in the way I expected to until this year. Suddenly, it’s hitting me like a train.I really miss him. This Christmas it will be just my Mum and me. I’m towing my little 1986 Viscount caravan up to the lake at Wooroonook, Victoria, to try to make something meaningful of the day for her. She’s 81 now and struggling to get around. My brother, sister-in-law, niece, nephew, and even my sons won’t be there. It’s going to be a hard one. Christmas just doesn’t bring me joy anymore. But still, I’ll sip white wine in the sun, think of my Dad, and try to make a happy memory with Mum — because I know her time is drawing close too. I just wanted to say thank you. Your music has a way of touching people at their deepest places, and these songs have been a part of my healing more than you could know. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family and I hope you keep writing the kind of music that reaches people when they need it most. Thank you ~ Megan xo
Dear Tim. We went to your concert in Canberra tonight. We have to drive 2 +1/2 hours and stay overnight. It was very well worth that effort. There were many moments that made us laugh and cry and think deeply about my life and where to from here. We are in our senior years and enjoyed it all immensely. We have followed your career from the beginning and as rusted on nerds will continue to do so. I saw Matilda the musical live in Sydney and enjoyed that very much. Would love to see Groundhog if it comes our way. Thanks again for all the music and the chat. Loved it all. Love to you and your family. Coral
I saw your show in Brisbane on Friday with my partner. I have never seen a crowd so obedient to putting their phones down. We all desperately wanted to photograph the real life Tim Minchin for ourselves. Many took the sneaky blurry shots that will forever be the bragging point over Christmas dinner. The recovery from accidentally entertaining the comedian in the crowd, to the perfectly balanced sound was amazing. Thank you for giving us almost an hour of extra entertainment. Absolutely worth it. I’m so glad I saw this before seeing Metallica tickets. It would have been a hard choice. Probably would have still chosen you. This is a big tick on my life bucket list.
Hi Tim. Mike from Tampa here. My daughter and I loved yer show at the Apollo. Matilda at Cambridge there’s… no words. The London sites and a day at Wimbledon after 7 hours on the que. Could’ve been perfect, butt…You didn’t do Airport Piano, so this is all your fault. I had to do it. I’m a 70, mediocre singer, though energetic and enthusiastic. I sang Airport Piano at Karaoke last night. Sounds ok but… I live in a nudist resort. My 70 y/o 140lb nekid scrawny bod singing my favorite song. I’d include a vid, except cameras are not allowed…
Hi. I just wanted to say. I’m finally listening to “Time Machine” (I was going to do it sooner, but it felt so weird to do so right after Tom died. I felt like I had to listen to him for awhile first). And I got to The Song of The Masochocist… and broke down crying. When “Apart Together” came out it was not a good time. For anyone really. I’m in the US and it was just. SO BAD. And then that album came out and I listened on repeat. And it made things better. I would just lay in bed as it felt like we were in the 10th, 11th, 12th month of the apocalypse and would cry as songs like “The Absence of You” comforted me against the absence of the WORLD. Because that was it, the whole WORLD was a hole and it was missing and everything was horrible. And “Apart Together” was what kept ME together. And listening to “Time Machine”, 4 tracks in, and I broke down sobbing because I had somehow forgotten just how much hearing your music when I’m in a dark place, like I am again, can just mend me and make it ok. Even for a little bit. And I had always hoped someday I could tell you that in person but, I’m an American, nope, so here I am. Anyway, thanks. For putting this box here and for making all the music you do. I’ve been listening for a long time, and you’ve gotten me through so much. Thank you for everything.
This is silly because I don’t really think you will read it in person but I still want to say Thank you for saving my marriage! We’ve been through a lot and there are so many times I’ve just wanted to walk away from everything. It took me a long time to discover you (since I live in Sweden where “everyone” says “Heh, Tim who?”) but the two first songs I heard were White wine in the sun (which reminded me of the importance of family) and Not perfect (which reminded me that I am pretty nice and can stand myself). Your rock ‘n’ roll nerding makes me happy and your love songs make me sad and happy at the same time and I confess the huuuuge confirmation biases ? My 50th birthday was coming up and I felt trapped, old and unloved. I thought about spending it in Paris all by myself. Then you unveiled your UK tour! Bam! I bought tickets to Edinburgh and told my husband that he could come with me if he promised to try to understand WHY I really had to go and he was not allowed ruin it! He prepared by listening to the songs and our kids gave him “clues and keys to mummy” and he nailed them all. I haven’t felt so loved in years! And to be there seeing and hearing you live, sharing tears of laughter and touched hearts, feeling his eyes on me when I was ALIVE for the first time in years and holding his hand to all the lovesongs (including the boobs ?)… yes, you saved us. Thank you ??
…and here is the rest…

Oh, fancy new page type thing. Anyway, Happy New Year and all that jazz (or rock, whatever). Looking forward to seeing some more England type gigs. For that matter, more England type gigs that I can get to. Hopefully many. I hope you are having an awesome time whichever hemisphere you’re at. xxx
G’day Tim,
I hope this year’s been alright so far. I’m a bit late in wishing you a happy new year, but stuff it.
Happy new year!
I’ve never commented on this page before. A year for doing new things I think.
I still haven’t seen you live but even on youtube you are amazing.
I hope one day I have the privilege of seeing you in concert.
Tim Happy New Year – get you on Graeme Norton! Enjoyed your efforts at the Royal Festival Hall before xmas but you could have brushed your hair.
Barnsey
xx
Tim!
You rocked on Graham Norton, glad to see you getting some coverage!!
Happy new year, I hope 2009 brings you even more success, and please don’t hesitate to come back to sunny Huddersfield in Yorkshire! We loved you.
Also, I want your new show on CD!! I adored confessions and I want Taboo on CD haha, but yeahh, can’t wait for it to come out!
Keep writing great songs, and don’t forget, your always welcome in Huddersfield!
p.s. I have also ordered Tim Minchin & Friends, and I can’t wait for it to come! >.<
Heyyyy :D I think you rock.
Best comedian/singer ever.
It’s a fact.
Also, your hair is pretty awesome (:
Hello Tim.
Think your extremely funny and think that you should be doing more dates in London. Look how quickly you have sold out at the roundhouse!
I cant get a ticket but will be looking out all the time for new releases. Really annoyed that I wont be able see you this year, infact im really dissapointed.
Good luck for 2009 and will hopefully see you live at some point.
Kelly-Jane x
Happy new year Tim, all the best. Loving your work. Cant wait to hear your new stuff.. hint hint ;-) You just keep getting better
TIIIIM .. haha i think your work is amazing.. and next time you come to london… i’m gonna come see you :)
you remind me so much of Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Carribbean films.. with your facial expressions haha
Keep it up and happy new year =)
I’m from Newcastle in Aus but am on holiday visiting family in Scotland of all places – and until last night I’d never heard of you… now I’ve watched your DVD twice and think you’re freakin awesome!! Just realised you’ll be touring Aus in March… and that you’re not coming to Newcastle!! Argh!!
(on a side note, I’m 20, gay, atheist, musical theatre nerd and play the EEb tuba… and your brilliantly hilarious comedy appealed to everything)
hi tim i saw you on the 23 in london and it’s one of the best showes ive ever seen but i havent realy seen alot but still your show was the funnest showes ever. :) and also i think your confessions song is one of the best the song with 3 part it’s realy funny.
There’s no bout a doubt it.. ewe are won of the moist tall lent it indie vid jewels ever to enter teen! Saw you for the first time on the Graeme Norton Show and was absolutely in awe of your talent, skill, wit and delivery.. I’ll be a fan for as long as I have a free will (alzheimers allowing.. at 45 it’s probably the only thing to look forward to!!) I’ve rounded up a dozen friends and colleagues to watch the repeat tonight. I hope your name and popularity grows exponentially.. you deserve every bit of success that comes your way!! (PS. Your Spell Checker seems to have a phew floors in it!) Happy New Year to you, your family and all your fans.
Sorry Graham.. you’re not in the Spell Checker either!!
Hey Tim How are you? Good i hope, i saw you on Graham Norton sshow the other night, you was amazing like always sir MAS but i couldn’t help but notice you were straight on and off, which i’ll admit disappointed me slightly cause you didn’t get a chat like every other guest did! I was more dissapointed for myself though selfish i no but i love to see you in interveiws cause you speak such scense and wisdom and i learn so many incredable words from your vocab which has helped to stop me being percived as a dumb blonde so thank you for that, anyway i’m ramberling MAS! lots of love to you Tim hope you ad a good new years eve and hope you have a wicked tour in Australia! Em x-x-x
hi tim I loved the song about the dolly do you use them because I do they are good aren’t they
Flippin ‘eck! So many people love you! Don’t blame them though. You are practically a musical genius, plus you can play the piano without looking at it, and when I try to do that, it sound like shit. But everything I play/write/sing is usually crap, but you can’tlose hope… that’s a lie!Heeheehee. I love your music and your lyrics are hilarious. Where do you get your inspiration for it all?
Hope you get to read this. :D
Paige

I know you know you’re great, but it still might be nice to hear it from someone else, repeatedly, over and over again – so, here it is: Tim, you’re great! I wish you a happy new year from Budapest.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO A GIG IN BIRMINGHAM!
Its not THAT far from London lol
I’ve got about ten friends who all love you and no one can get to see you.
Come to birrrrmingham pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease.!
xx
Hi saw you at Norden Farm Maidenhead and met you afterwards (I was the fat old girl with the manager and her friends). Really enjoyed your show, you are very talented. Happy New Year to you, your wife and your little girl
Hi Tim, First saw you at the secret policemans ball here in the UK and i laffed so much i nearly did a little wee ;) When i saw your canvas bag song on your website i actually got goose bumps when the crowd started clapping! It is quite amazing for one person to be so musically talented coupled with being a comedy genius, but thats enough about me ;) ha ha ha
You are sooooo original and cute too which is always a bonus.
I wish you every success as you deserve it,
Laters Taters – Debzzz UK
Tim … I love you! That’s all there is to it. It is a sentiment shared by many but can never be said enough. You are truly inspirational and if (god forbid) your marriage doesn’t work out I am available any time! Please come to Jersey and show case your skills.
Keep up the good work. All the best for 2009, PURPLE SHOES!
Lots of Love Lottie xxxxxxx
(18 from Jersey)
PS: see you on March the 7th in Auckland at the Edge! x
Hello Tim :) I recieved your new DVD for xmas because I wouldn’t stop going on about it so my mum eventually gave in and bought it xD we watched it and she’s a big fan of yours now too :)
You should do loads more gigs in London,, I can’t get tickets for your Roundhouse show! It’s overly tragic!
I saw the pic of you and your baby, its really sweet ^.^ shes gorgeous!
Good Luck for the future, I hope to see you at a show very soon!
Love Helena (15), London
xxxxx
I looked up Graham Norton uncut on bbci today, was dissapointed to find that they still only showed one song.
This makes me sad.
Looking forward to the roundhouse gig, even if the journey back will be hell on earth.
All the best
Oh My Frick!! AAAAHHHHHH!!!!! You’re Coming To Glasgow! I Love You! Wow! Hi btw, i’m like one of those obsessive stalker people that you have to get a restraining order out on….sorry about that :(
Happy New Year btw :) x x x
I think you are the most beautiful man….x
Please play Drowned on the 16th? Pretty please with shavings of rainbow? Happy new year XD
Hello Tim i love your songs i have been listening to them constantly for weeks now but i cant get tickets for the roundhouse please come and play in london again soooon xxx
Saw you for the first time on The Graham Norton Show on BBC America. Huge fan since then. Hope you do a show in the US sometime
wouldnt’ you like to fuck, err, I mean play, with Utah?
Pretty Pretty Please!!!
Finally got round to listening to the band version of Drowned (which, thanks to lines such as “A breakdown on a motorway / A heart attack on Christmas day”, Alanis Morissette thinks should be called Ironic). Love the backing vocals on the first ‘I’m drowned’ in the choruses. :) Hug. x
Hi. If there is a way to say ‘I love you’ without sounding like a stalker, I can’t be bothered to think of it, so I just want to say that you rock. Also, if you do another tour of England, would you please come to Luton? And bring shitloads of merchandise? So far, my ‘collection’ of paraphernalia consists of one DVD and some audio files…
Much love, K xx
^_^ Just to repeat what howlie said. I was extremely to not see your second song even on the so called ‘Uncut’ version. See you on the 16th! xxxxxx
Woah I meant that I was extremely disappointed :(
Hi, saw you on the Graham Norton show and thought you were amazing! Any chance you will be visiting Dublin, Ireland anytime soon. Love to see you live but I’m not flying to Oz for it!!!
Please do more shows in london!! Its on your doorstep!!
I cant get tickets for the roundhouse anywhere! x
dude you rock, seriously.
You should come back to Wakefield soon.
before you get too famous, because famous people have no need for Wakefield.
so, yeah.
Wakefield..
cheers :D
x
Okay so I just have to say that I love all your work, the lyrics are just hilarious and cleverly witty! But man I just have to say you are freak when it comes to the piano!
I got So Live for Xmas, and I then went out to buy the CD to put it on my ipod, getting with the ages, I am lol. My fav song I would have to say is ‘The Guilt Song’ and ‘Ten Foot Cock And A Few Hundred Virgins’ and then all the rest. lmao!
Oh I am babbling on, by I have to say I screamed and shrieked and screamed once more when I found out that you were coming to Geelong!!! So cya there in all you brilliant glory!
– Tonie-Raquel
Heyo Tim. Thought you might like to know that the little picture thumbnails in your “pics” section take me straight to the homepage when I click them. So I have to squint if I want to see arty professional photos of you. Oh dear.
Yo Tim, Darkside rulz xD, hope u come to the north west sum time soon, cya dude.
In relation to Horse-Hannah’s post, the comments for your blog have the same problem… Methinks there is a glitch somewhere. x
You are hilarious! god i think im in love!
if i tell you where i live will you bring me cookies? this had better be a two way street…
hi you are ace and we all love you.
we are also coming to see you soon aswel wooo:)
hey tim (:
it’s james bailie from bangor, northern ireland.
it’s a wee town in the uk.
i’m kinda annoyed cause you’re not doing any gigs in northern ireland.
i think it’d be pretty cool if you played in belfast.
i watched your never mind the buzzcocks episode and i’ve got your dvd’s and i think with a little advertisement and hype over here you could be the biggest comedian in the uk (:
please come over!
-james bailie
Roundhouse coming up SOON! :) My husband and I can’t wait to see you.
Come to New Zealand!
Please come to Ireland and do some gigs! If you find the need for a bassplayer to assist you, I’d be happy to oblige!
TIM!! Where do I send those cookies to then? Come to Birmingham UK…or at least do more shows in England, 1 just really isn’t enough! Love the piano playing…could need it for my A-Level composition :p. O and what is your favourite flavour cookie??
xoxox
I’m new to your material, having only seen So F**king Rock over the Christmas period – You’re comedy Mr Minchin is spectacular, some of the most clever stand-up i’ve seen in many years. I look forward to hopefully seeing you on tour in the UK pretty soon. You’ve certainly developed a following amongst my friends. Simply brilliant.
Thanks
When is the next uk tour planned? saw you at Ed Fringe, I need to get another Live comedy fix. Its weird now people are starting to know who i’ve been going on and on about. Keep up the good work, looks like you’re finally at risk of becoming famous.
You’re my idol!
you are so much better at applying eyeliner than me!
incidently you are probably the reason I started wearing eyeliner…
(Im a dude if you dont get it :p)
Watched the “So Fucking Rock” dvd last night. First time I’d seen Tim. Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant! Please start touring in the UK a bit more, especially the South West!! I’ll spread the word.
Tim, I’m listening to your CDs I bought on the 22nd right now and they are both awesome. I can really hear how your emphasis on certain parts has changed, and how some of your stand up has evolved. The songs are still brilliantly brilliant, and hearing ‘Fat Children’ (which is unavailable anywhere else, really) reminds me why I starting liking you in the first place- not that I could ever forget! You really are brilliant and I am very glad to have discovered you. I very much look forward to an opportunity to see your inevitably jaw dropping, fancy-tickling, first person ownership of cup of tea performance. xxx
Tim I recently bought your DVD “So Rock” after seeing your appearances on both the Secret Policeman’s Ball, and Graham Norton. I think your work is that of genius – absolutely hilarious. I have now sat and watched it 4 times, each with a different member of the family!
I really hope you have every success in the UK as you honestly deserve it my man. I know you have probably heard it repeatedly, but please do start touring more in the UK – I will spread the word.
Hope the tour goes well back in Oz. Keep up the good work
Hey – a message for Brenton about the eye liner thing! I appear to be only wearing a lot of black eyeliner lately – well, all the time infact! My friend George remarked that perhaps I am getting slightly obsessed now!!
I reccomend the new Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara – waterproof is best as it doesn’t run when I a) cry with laughter b) cry when i listen to Drowned!
Sending hugs to everyone xx
Heyo Tim. I’m a huge fan… Obviously not the first. Oh well. Anyway, I recently saw you on Andrew Denton which reinvoked my obsession with your fantastic work.
I’ve listened to your new single – “Drowned” dozens of times since I bought it this morning and only just realized the fantastic wit of some of the lyrics, even within a seemingly serious song. It moved me so much that my heart ached and then made me laugh uproariously.
So glad you’re back in Australia. I’m going to your Sydney concert on April 4th. Look out for a pudgy teenager in a hat, or, as you’ll most likely see it, glare off stage lights.
With many obsessive stares,
Lachlan C (A.K.A Capt. Spectacular)
feature films seem to be your new thing…and you do them very well….Im from the central coast in Aus and travelled for 4.5 hours to see Rock n Roll Nerd at the dendy in Newtown…this travelling also included waiting on Newtown and Central Stations at something close to midnight….which i wouldnt recomend…But i loved Rock n Roll Nerd…
2 Fists 1 heart also looks fantastic… my only hope is that it is general release, unlike so many fantastic australian movies….not that i dont mind travelling to Newtown but their screens arent big enough…lol…
i will definatly be attending your stint at the sydney comedy festival (sydneys attempt to copy melbourne).
your interview with Andrew Denton was also fantastic..
Hey Tim,
We only discovered your stuff a few weeks ago – the world needs more of your comedy! Kudos.
Now you’re touring in the UK, you _must_ come to Brighton again. Seriously. Please. We’ll make you cookies and everything.
:o)
It’s less than a week now until Roundhouse :)
I’m getting increasingly excited.
Faye xxxxxxxx
Can i have you as like a pet or something please.
It would mean an awful lot.
THANKS!
YOU ROCK!
Tim, you need to see this. I introduced my sister to you (well, DVD you) and took her on the 22nd. My sister. Who never gets as wound up about things as me. She sent me this…. ‘I love Tim Minchin. I love him. Fact. As do Gareth, Mike, Sally & Jackie :) I’m now spreading the love and hilarity of the brilliance that is Tim. How are you little sis? SILVAAAA SHOES!’ YOU SEE?! Incredible! Yay. ^_^
HI you are great! you’re work can’t be described with words! all of my friends love you’r songs, and we need more! more songs, more good humor:P we know you can do itXD an there’s one more thing: you need to come on tour to Norway, so think about that!
Usually pictures of my children adorn my screen saver on my home computer and lap top – now its Tim! bad mother! bad mother!
Hi Tim! I’m getting quite nervous about my flight tomorrow. So why do I keep coming to the UK if I hate flying so much?
It’s because your show is totally worth it.
See you soon!
~♥
Liza
I’m so looking forward to the Roundhouse show. The involvement of cabaret tables is giving me the irrational hope that you’ll do close-up magic… xx
i really wish i could attend one of your shows. if ever you find yourself in vancouver you can stay with me :) seriously, you are brilliant and i have a huge crush on you. keep making amazing music!
now through the crazy invention of myspace and the boredom that ensues from not having proper comedians here, you have a fan in the USA! well im sure you had some prior to my discovery of you…but still. you are absolutely amazing and once you get done eating cookies in vancouver and norway…you MUST tour the US. i have quite a comfy couch if need be, and fairly decent cooking skills. :) you=awesome
heyya tim, baught your, so fucking rock dvd its amazing seenit several times and i still laugh like its the first time i heard it. i also love drowned. sounds gay but your voice is addictive. hope your wife and children are well. and thankyou for being so fabulous :).
Hello again,
Oh this one appears at the top, well I suppose that gives slightly more chance of you seeing me and my frankly terrible witticisms and equally atrocious spelling. I suppose I ought to really take this one seriously, but the internal fight to keep this rather dry humour (hmmm, very unlike me) going is astonishingly powerful.
However, I should mention you are a wonderful pianist and almost as good at singing as me…
… I can be famous in my head if I want…
But anyway, regards and all that jazz, hope you keep playing and if you ever read this – for lack of a better more appropriate phrase – rock on!
Rosie
Hey Tim,
i actually just found out about you last week
and as im still extremely depressed over the death of George Carlin
and was starting to lose hope in the comedic talent that our world has to offer
you come along
honestly
i think you are hilarious and at the same time is someone that i think yould be awesome to hang out with on the weekends
if i can find out if you come to chicago or anywhere around it
i will no doubt be seeing you there
thanks alot Tim
look forward to many years of enjoyment from you
-Ed
Hey Tim, I’m very much looking forward to seeing your show again at the Roundhouse. I’m bringing my brother and his girlfriend – they did see you at Latitude but were unfortunately too drunk to appreciate your talent! Anyway, I know the Roundhouse is a big venue and therefore you might get trapped for hours by people wanting you to sign stuff but please come out and say hi if you can. It would make me very happy x
G’day Tim, i hav been watching your videos and they are so funny , i recon your hair looks mad as man keep on rocking the piano !! :D
Hello Tim, well done, very well done! You must come and play in Nottingham, well not must but should, definatley should! I would love it to pieces.
Hey Tim! Firstly, wow… do u REALLY read all those comments? that must take forever… anywho i looked u up on iTunes and bought Drowned but, theres not anything else! i mean dont get me wrong Drowned is great (really nice metaphors and piano-ee bits) but is there possibly some other way i can get more of you on my iPod? a CD with like every one of ur songs on it or something… just curios… oh and by the way i showed all my friends ur stuff on u tube and they thought u were awesome too, and they showed all there friends and … yeah etc… anyway we all think ur hilarious and a comedy genius, so … good job. =)
Hey tim. Ur gorgeous and talented and funny and wow wow wow. Anyway could you please please please play glasgow again soon. Missed you in november as had 2 go 2 belfast 2 visit my ex in laws (my daughters dads family). Grr and sob. Id camp out for a week just 2 make sure i got tickets. Hugs giggles and cookies X.
To my husband I refer to you as Mr Super Tasty. He is understanding, you are a phenomenal artist, if you were not as good as you are tasty there might be an issue in our marital bliss. That said, is there anything besides the mp3 “Drowned” (which is great btw) available in the USA? I saw you on Graham Norton show and was simply captivated. I would love to put more of you on my ipod. Any hope of a US tour perhaps? I’ll get you a sweet booking in Pittsburgh, PA if you ever come through. Til then, you rawk yo!
Good luck at the Roundhouse. Sorry can’t join you – see you v soon though!! By the way, I got the Maybelline Colosal Mascara – it rocks as much as my newly dyed jet black hair!! Big hug xx
PS – thank you for making me smile A LOT!!
Tiiiiiiiiiiiiim!!!
I have only recently found you and your songs, and this was when I should have been writing my dissertation (easy internet access and YouTube are dangerous things for those of us with short attention spans). Anyway, I did eventually finish my dissertation and as a reward to myself bought your dvd, which I LOVE.
So thank you for making my life infinitely more smiley.
:D xxxx
Hello there Tim. I’m Josh. :)
I think you’re an absolute amazing artist and I listen to alot of your songs nearly every day haha. I was going to come see you today, but by the time I had realised you had a show coming up, I couldn’t get tickets. :) Well I hope you had fun there.. Evil b**tard :D. So yeah I think I will sign up to the emails now :D..
I love the fact that you do your own website, it makes it feel like I’m actually incontact with you, not some random PA that knows you and speaks on your behalf.. feels more real I guess. Well anyway I hope you give me a shout back but until then, keep rocking dude :).
I feel worried and confused. You are going to die alone and stinking of cheap wine, clutching your awards and print outs of your old emails. I feel worried that all this adulation could go to your head and turn you from being essentially a bit of a goofy guy, who prettied up and who gets paid to do what he loves for a living and you will turn into a loser who who believes all the hype, you’ll lose your integrity and vulnerability, everyone will be bored by you, you will disappear like, well someone who I can’t remember. But I feel torn, despite my better judgement I have a crush on you! I feel very silly about it. Only a crush mind you (who the hell thinks you are a Genius?! That’s insane) It gives me comfort to hope that you ARE a complete shit..I don’t want to have a crush, I just want to enjoy your stuff. So please would you do something disgustingly, revolting, make sure that the media will find out, in a couple of weeks they will have ripped your world apart like a pack of frenzied dogs and then all will be well in my world again. Oh and it’s something to do with your teeth (you’ve probably been told, how frightfully boring) so could you abandon your dental hygiene too?! Oh yuk, I feel really stupid now, but I feel have got a whiff of an idea for a song for you ( I know forgive me I sound like an idiot, everyone has a song for you, right?) I haven’t got a clue about music and song..construction?? so please forgive my inadequacy, but the idea is pretty good, if you want it you can have it, email me (we can fight it out at a later date in court over royalties). Also why not have a template email so that people can spare their fingers and time? You can have THIS idea gratis:
HI/HELLO/HEY/HEYO: Tim
You: ROCK/ ARE AWESOME/ARE A GENIUS/ SOOO FUNNY/ARE A BRILLIANT MUSICIAN/SO CUTE/ARE THE CAT’S PYJAMAS
I Love Your: DVD/HAIR/FEET/EYELINER/SONGS/WIFE
I want to: SEE YOU/BRING YOU COOKIES/KEEP YOU/FUCK YOU/READ YOUR METER
xxxxxxxxx/ :) / ;O) / LOL
hiya tim
Love your songs and your style
xxx
Hi Louise, darnit!! shame I didn’t suggest the message template sooner. I feel envious of your brevity and in turn the protection of your digits, I am hopeless I can’t stop myself…though you trounced me with LOVE YOUR… ‘STYLE’. ‘forgot that one.
Hey tim. Could you please email me on 2 very important points. Number 1 was considering getting rock and roll nerd tattooed on my wrist. What d’ya reckon! And number 2 and prob most important – is rock and roll nerd abt you or just meant 2 sound like it is. Me and my pal were debating it over dinner. WE NEED ANSWERS! Lol :-* hugs giggles and cookies. X. Ps just saw you on never mind the buzzcocks and you were wearing a black shirt. V v sexy.
Tim, you’re gay,
In a non-homosexual way.
Hey Tim, I saw you at the Roundhouse Theatre last night. Fantastic show, I had a brilliant time. I also wanted to say that you sang Hallelujah perfectly, with the passion and sensitivity that the song deserves – I can see that it is a song you hold dear to your heart. I wish you all the best for your Oz tour and can’t wait to see you again, back in England.
All the best,
Al
Tim, thank you for an incredible show last night in Camden. You are inspirational; a musician and comedian of extraordinary talent. First saw you at the Godless Christmas show and was blown away by your beat poem ‘Storm’. I get very emotional at the “thanks to recent scientific advances, I get to live twice as long” part because my husband had a bone marrow transplant in 2005 and is still doing fine! Thank you for preaching your atheist/rationalist beliefs, I do hope you encourage more people to wake up.
Hope you have a fab tour in Aussie-land… X X X
Hey Tim – Saw you for the first time at The Roundhouse last night – The show was certainly the best comedy gig I have ever been to (I don’t get out much).
I too really love boobs. So thank you and hope to see you again soon!
Saw your brilliant show at the Roundhouse last night.
The dancing bear was a surprise, as was your beautiful rendition of Hallelujah.
Any chance of getting your own TV show?
Release a single!
Hey Tim,my husband and i travelled all the way from the north of Scotland to see you last night at the Roundhouse. And it was worth every mile! You were excellent, i enjoyed every minute (even standing in the very long queue to meet you at the end was cool!!!) Have fun in Aussie, hope to see ou back in the UK soon (especially Scotland!!)xx
:) lovely Ebony, Sorrel, Shell and Linzy.
Roundhouse was spectacular. You really are the best of the best. Faye xxxx
Hi
Now I’m even more jealous that I had to miss last night… But Finn had a great birthday and I’m looking forward to nxt Saturday. Please do Hallelujah then cos I saw it on You Tube and got v emotional! Its proper lovely! Take care x Lou La Belle x
Hiya, I got your DVD today, that ‘So Fucking Rock Live’ one that is ‘exclusive to HMV’. I saw some of your songs on youtube ages and ages ago and i’ve finally bought the dvd! The way you are on stage is kinda how I am in my drama lessons, except less of the swearing and stuff, I really doubt my school would appreciate it! See, I have Asperger Syndrome and i’m a bit weird in my own special way, and every time I try and ‘act’ in drama and what not, everything always comes out a little bit..different to how it went in my head. Everyone’s used to it now, but I still mess everything up and dither around mumbling and have big long pauses where I really should say something clever. What’s that song called that’s last on the dvd, the one where you start with ‘this is my earth’ and get right down to ‘this is my brain, and I live in it’. I like that one, it’s my favourite. I live in my brain. I’m pretty sure that no one else could cope living in it, it’s very complex and confusing. It’s good that people can’t hear our thoughts isn’t it? I’d have so many enemies if that were the case. Gosh. I do ramble on don’t I? I said I go to school, but i’m actually 16 and should have left by now, but I messed it up so bad the first time, that they let me try again. So i’m stuck with a bunch of 14 year olds who have even less understanding of the way my mind works than I do. I make no sense.
Just thought i’d say that, for no reason whatsoever! Bye bye! x
Tim Minchin. Y’know, before you told me I had an awesome name, I’d never been told that before. Since Southbank I’ve been told it six times in random circumstances. Is your word law, or something…? It frightens me. xx
Please come and perform in Canada!!!
Tim! Saw you at the Roundhouse Friday, it was awsome!
Its a shame I couldnt get in for the signings, I should have nabbed you when I saw you in the bar before the show =[
Please say “Ready for this?” is coming out on CD or DVD, you should include your rendition of “Hallelujah” it was beautiful!
I might be coming out to Auz later in the year, I want to see you play in perth while im at it, I hope I can make it!
x
This is another plea for you to come to the States. I vote for a few dates in LA at least(since that’s where I’ll be moving soon). Have a great tour in Australia, but please don’t leave us alone over here too long.
Hey Tim
Roundhouse was just perfect – thanks
hope you liked the cake! ( & yeah the picture was good)
Have a cool trip home

“Hallelujah” at the Roundhouse was absolutely heart-stoppingly beautiful. I have to admit when I first knew what you were going to play I though “Oh God, he’s going to massacre it…” but it was mindblowing – quite literally gave me chills. Thanks!
Heya Tim, hope you’re fantastic. I hope you don’t mind, but I’ve been busy painting you. :) If you’d like to see it you can go to my website link, or just click right here – http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r56/horsey_chick45/tim.jpg .
I didn’t quite get your hair right, but I hope you like it anyway. Eilish x
Hey Tim!:) Amazing show on friday at the Roundhouse. Been enjoying your so fucking rock dvd for the last few months, i keep showing it to people!
Was brilliant to see you live, you make me giggle so much!:)
Hallelujah at the end was beautiful…a wonderful surprise.
Rachel xx :)
tim, i need you in the u.s.
just ordered your dvd.
keep rockin.
Hey Tim, absolutely awe inspiring stuff and piss hysterical to boot you’ve bought many hours of drunken guffaws to an array of students hehe, not to mention a tyrade of jealousy from some pianists i know. take care and keep it up :)
Tim you were my Christams present. That is the “tickets” to your show at the Roundhouse in London. Truly the best show I have ever been too. I first saw you at the Secret Policemans Ball and you originality and use of language is simple unique. You are a superstar!
You have the amazing skill to talk about serious and profound issues and mix it with laughter but the serious side of your messages are not lost in the wonderful humour.
Hi Tim, you said its nice when people ask you to perform in their city, so heres me asking on behalf of myslef and a great deal more people to play Edinburgh Fringe Festival again this year! They’d love to have you!
Thanks for bothering to do what you do…
Your comedy brings another a little ray of happiness into my life
I’m having cookies but I’m not giving you any. You’d probably just get angry with me if I did give them to you- especially as they are burnt. Also a little cross at changing my name, but I guess Manx-Michelle is better for clarity’s sake. Not that you particularly read the names I guess. x
Why do you always play in Birmingham about a week after I have left it? It almost seems deliberate (I’ll assume it isn’t). And never Newcastle. Why?
Sigh.
I find you most amusing, keep doing what you do.
NERD?! Psst. Says you. Nah, you were pretty nice about us ‘groupies’. Thanks. Although you made me feel very young. 15? Ah. I’m not that young am I? Jeeze. I promise I do come to your shows to see you (but seeing all the other groupies is an added bonus ;]) By the way, I love the page. It’s really really cool. I do love the purple and the grabbing knees pose thing there. I’ll keep listening now. Thanks again for the mention ;) <3 x
I work as a music teacher in a primary school in Australia and I was wondering if you have written any music for your children, specifically songs that they might ultimately sing. I am very aware that children love to sing music that they feel gives them credibility in the eyes of others so I often use humorous songs to get them singing. Have you got any material you can share with the little darlings?
Hi. I’ve just found out that you are coming to the Brighton Dome in september and I am overjoyed and it was all thanks to you and facebook!!
I’ll will be checking the Brighton Dome website everyday to make sure I don’t miss out this time… I’m fed up of finding out too late :( but this time i WILL be there !!
I hope this year wont go too slowly so I don’t feel like I am waiting forever.
I received your DVD and CDs for xmas and they were very much appriciated..right now they are in circulation around the friends and family
Can’t wait to get my tickets :)
Enjoy the rest of your tour
Jaz.x
So overjoyed your back in the UK touring again for certain cant wait for the official dates to two of your venues Derby and Coventry if it was anything like lat year and the year before I’m sure I wont be disapointed as I would say it’s money well spent good luck with the Aussie tour and look forward to seeing you again for like the 4/5th time your a legend in your own right.
I hope your in the middle of sorting out some Scottish tour dates, otherwise i’ll be highly disappointed, because I want to see the show again! :D x
Dear Mr Tim Minchin
We wanted to say thank you for making our mummy so happy. She told us she met you last night in London and has been smiling and lovely all morning. She didn’t even shout when we were noisy.
Mummy was quite sad for a while before, but since she heard of you she is better now.
We think she took the light from you and made it all her own.
We hope you liked the Khinda egg. Mummy said it broke a bit though.
Do you want to come for tea. Mummy is rubbish at cooking though so we will have pizza.
love from
Scarlett, Harrison, Oliver and Finn
Dear Tim,
As you can see my children are happy that you made mummy smile. I just wanted to say thank you – for helping me to breath again! You said it was a big responsibilty – well, no drama babe, the past is well and truly behind me and I am able to move on!
Your performance was lovely last night at the 100 Club, we had a really good night. Martin White and the Mystery Fax Machine Orchestra were fabulous. I’m sorry for showering you with glitter – you did kinda sparkle a bit on stage!!
Glad you liked the girlie mascara – stay away from the Colossal one – the wand isn’t half as good….
Thank you for being so sweet and lovely and remembering about Finn. He had a great time at Mamma Mia thank you x Take care x Laura C x
BTY, Happy Australia Day on Monday x
Hey Tim
I got my friend your DVD for her 14th Birthday today
I’ve NEVER seen her so happy :]
We love you Tim…coz we’re so fucking rock
PURPLE SHOES!
SILVER SHOES!
ITS A FUCKIN CONSPIRACY OF SHOES
i recently got your DVD and all i can say is its the best thing since sliced paint.
i have had the DVD for about 3 days now and have watched it about 5 or 6 times already, mouthing the words to the songs and everytime i have a huge belly laugh at “everytime your trying to have a quiet poo in an alley”
you truley are a GOD amongst men, and amost women and…shrews,
hope you keep on writting your comedy and maybe one day in that giant office block in time square you will have your own cabbinate even thought it will be a nightmare to clean in a few short, hundreds of millions of years.
Hi Tim!
After seeing you on the Secret Policeman’s Ball I instantly became a fan, and went on the net straight away to purchase your DVD. I think it’s truly brilliant, you’re a genius!
Please please come to Liverpool in September!
xxxx
So fucking AWESOME!
OMG! Yayness for recording Ready for This!!! :D

Hey Tim! Was gutted when I looked on the gigs page, hoping for some Scottish dates, to find that there was none :( You’re so friggin’ awesome, dude!!! xx
Dear lord you amaze me. I can’t wait to come see you in Reading. I shall hopefully buy tickets when they come on! My friends and I always singalong to your So Rock DVD. Practically peeing ourselves everytime. Haha!.
Lovee! xx
Dublin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!
i would just like to point out one piece of glorious irony
in your so fucking rock tour you talk about saying “F**ck” and it basically meaning fuck more than fuck means fuck yet before you can enter this site it advertises your DVD and even says ” SO F**CKING ROCK”
irony at one of its best points.
keep writing your godly material
Hi Tim.
Seeing you in October :)
You might see me, i’ll be wearing a hat.
Have fun xx
Liking the new site colours/pictures
Sooooo glad (ecstatic actually) you are coming back oop north this year, but what’s all this about gigging in Warrington? What was wrong with our lovely Brindley Theatre, huh? Tsk. Aah, I bet you’re allergic to pizza. That’s it isn’t it. It’s the only explanation.
Your great, Come to calgary or at least canada some time soon please.
Come 2 glasgow. Scotland loves you!
I live in England and it’s fuckin IMPOSSIBLE to get any of ur Cds anywhere please help!
Just found out about you (oh, the internet is a wonderful medium, isn’t it?) and you so fucking rock! When’re you coming to Holland?:P
not perfect may well be my favorite song of all time. its beautiful.
Tim.
The future of comedy is among us………NOW.
Roll on Southampton, buddy.
Sublime songs, with ingenious wordplay.
Your thoughts and rants are cutting, real, truthful.
I’m really glad you’re here.
Peace, love, respect.
I have listened to ‘Storm’ incessantly tonight, with much glee. Thanks so very much for making it available for us on YouTube! (This was recorded with the live band, correct? It sounds awesome.)
I am in complete awe of your talent and humor. I have been watching videos of you on youtube non-stop for the past two days. I really can’t stop. Thank you for putting yourself out there and making beautiful yet sometimes disturbing music.
Cheers!
When are you going to get some more professional photos done and put them up on here..!? need more Minchin eye candy! Nice new colour scheme going on in here though, thumbs up to you guys! (or girls).
Hi Tim. Oliver wants to know what toy you got in the Khinda egg – sorry but he’s being very persistent!! Kids eh!!! He had a coin in his mouth the other day – you can imagine what I said….. ;-)
WHEN is your North American tour? I particularly refer to that part of your North American tour that will take place in or near Toronto, Canada. Inquiring Canadians want to KNOW.
My CD keeps jumping – over use maybe!? I shall have to purchase another! Tim, can I buy shares in you? Seeing that I have brought many tickets for myself, Hannah, Chris, Kate, Richie, Georgina and Gemma for a select number of tour dates, I thought I could invest in you further on the stock market. As I am working on an on going assignment where my choice of shares are going really well and making me some cash, I thought I’d continue my efforts and invest in you. I am sure I will get a huge return on my investent as your popularity increases daily (isn’t that good!) You could be in the FTSE 100!! I thought this stock market business would be quite dull but I am surprising myself on a regular basis! It quite fun!! Anyway, please share your thoughts. Have a great day xx
I’ve decided to tell my brother that I specifically asked you to put Storm on youtube just for his 18th birthday since I have no present for him and won’t see him for months. So if you get an email or something tomorrow… just… you know… back me up? Please? Thanks. (By the way, I’m going to buy a shirt with ‘All Tim’s Nerds Are Hot’ on it. Are you proud, or slightly frightened? Either way, still buying it. xx
Hey Tim. It would mean a lot if you were to come to Belfast!!!
xxx
TIM IS GOD!
I’m an Australian girl doing her HSC, and listening to Minchin’s songs are my favourite way to relax.
My boyfriend is a huge fan and he was the one who introduced me to the wonders of Minchin…now I thank him all the time for matchmaking me with my new love.
..Since I bought a copy of “So Live” I’ve watched it at least 12 times, whenever I’ve had the time. It is so cool!
..But I wish there was more sheet music of Minchin’s songs…althought I’m a drummer, I would love to break with tradition and learn to play “Inflatable You” (my favourite song) on the piano.
Yay for Minchin!!
