You have the most brilliant brain I’ve ever witnessed.
I am thrilled you are successful in a more elegant way than mainstream acts.
I know your success will bring you to Canada soon!

    Tim,
I saw you recently on a morning show amazed that there were schools without a music program. My children attended a number of different state schools very few of which had music programs. Your comments sounded like those I made at those times. Unfortunately the Yamaha program (although great) will not fix this problem as it is a grants program and therefore the schools in most need of a music program will not apply. I have even known schools turn away musicians offering to help because funding such was not a budget priority. Could you please use your high profile to encourage education departments to fully fund music programs particularly in small schools in regional areas where other opportunities do not exist.
    Regards,
    Stewart

    Dear Tim,
Many people in Australia are feeling desperate, despondent and powerless about the human rights travesty being played out on the refugees who are still being detained on Manus and Nauru (and other detention centres that are less well known). Various artists have written deeply emotional songs expressing their concerns. I’m not even an artist, but I wrote one too. Then I thought, perhaps a group of well known artists could get together to record a song on this theme, not unlike the Band Aid concept, galvanise community response and draw world attention to the plight of these individuals and thereby force the government to act, as nothing else has worked so far. (The small victory for medical assistance this week just shows how far we have fallen). If nothing else, it will leave a legacy that showed at this point in history we did something collectively against this, and hopefully future generations may not look on us as harshly.
    What do you think?
    Best wishes,
    Claire Tarelli
    PS love your work ☺️

Please come to Canada. We love you and for the most part aren’t as stupid as Americans. Please think it over, it would make my day (well like 3 or 4 hours at least :)

Thank you Tim for your “Pell” song, It helped a lot over the years.
He came home, and has had a fair trial.
Our justice system is certainly flawed, however, in this case they got it right.

    Tim,

In 2016, I posted the following:

‘When I heard ‘Come home’, the line about “survivors, despite their shame and their fear standing up to tell their stories” went to the heart of me, and for the first time in years, I wept; and in grieving, felt less inhuman than I had for a long, long time. My heart goes out to those in Ballarat and elsewhere who suffered as they did. And thank you for your prophetic anger.’

And now what George Pell did has been laid bare. Now we know. Your courageous voice on behalf of those of us who are survivors has been vindicated and justified. Please accept my renewed thanks.

Just came across your wonderful talent recently. I’m hooked! Sorry I got here so late, won’t happen again!

    Pell found guilty. ????

I am a survivor of abuse at a Catholic School in Scotland from way back in the 1960s. I am actively involved in trying to get the Catholic Church to make the huge changes that it needs to. The recent Vatican conference was hopeless on its own but small steps are slowly being taken I guess – but not enough. Conviction of Pell is today’s good news. ????
Whenever I get a bit down I play your wonderful Pope Song. It is the best therapy ever! Eloquent and, if anything, understated. Thank you, mate.

Cardinal Pell is settling into his new home tonight, behind bars. Guilty of five counts of attacking two 13-year-old boys, one of whom as an adult overdosed on heroin before he could see his case go to court.

I sincerely hope that every bishop, archbishop, and cardinal is shaking in his socks tonight (purple for bishops, red for cardinals).

Meanwhile, over on his Twitter account, fabled Catholic journalist Rocco Palmo, known as “the Vatican whisperer,” has this to say:

“With abuse conviction of Vatican’s onetime #3 now unsealed Down Under, pending Rome’s reax, an op’s left with ‘That song… That song.’ ” Below which is posted the video of “Come Home.”

    Thanks again, Tim.
