A true original. Thank you for sharing your genius with the world; you’ve made a lifelong fan out of this American lady
My Aunty in the UK went to get her grandson a copy of ‘You so F*****g Rock’ she couldn’t bring herself to say the word to ask for it so she phoned her daughter and got her to say it over the phone!!!
My daughter turned me on to you and said, “Don’t you think grandma would have liked him?” The answer was, “Yes, she would have loved him!” My mom was a professional piano player and her favorite stuff to play was silly, old songs from the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s, but especially parodies. I grew up listening to her play crazy, little, unknown tunes, then sharing with my friends. I have so missed her and can’t begin to thank you enough for working hard to become famous so you could share this great musical niche.
I’m an agnostic in southern Oregon, USA…Maybe , I’m the only one. Today, I listened to White wine in the sun. It was the first time since I played it to the most wonderful Mum a man could ask for. She left this earth, last January. No, I don’t know where she went. But she sure did love that song. I played it for her last Christmas, when she was so ill. I just want to tell you thank you, for putting a smile and a tear to both of our faces.
I bought a park, this summer. No, its a first for me. I bought it, because Mum would have wanted me to. Mum used to swim there, with all us kids, in the best swimming hole in Oregon. . I’m naming it Merete’s Cove after my Mum.Its one of the worlds most beautiful places. I’m trying to build a beautiful bandstand there. Mum loved music. I welcome you to sing there someday. I know its a little crazy. But including you, there would be at least two Atheists near the stage. Three including my sweet daughter, Brook, who also loves your music. Maybe I dream too big……. Either way, My family will be listening to white wine in the sun, this Christmas, and thinking of Mum.
Hi Tim – My wife and I saw you in Thousand Oaks on Saturday and said “hello” afterwards. We’re the couple from Phoenix who mentioned to you that I played piano and sang at her over the Internet and in return she married me. Pretty good trade, honestly. We made it back safely, by the way. Anyway I just wanted to drop a note to say thank you for such a fantastic show, and your transformative influence on my life. I’m very very very happy to be able to say that I shook your hand, and I’m very very very sad that I declined to be in the picture that you took with my wife. Come back soon!

Hey Tim&Co.
I first saw u(tim) @ moorabbin town hall in 05 and was soooooo fu***ng impressed-u r a genius. My sister thinks ur weird and even though i sort of agree, i still think u r awsome-kEEP IT UP.
Hey hey tim, the donut shop that I work at (Puffin Fresh Whitfords City, Perth) just started distributing Canvas Bags. Well not canvas as such, but those big reusable hard plasticy ones. I’m not too sure what they’re actually made of, but I’m very glad, because I was previously getting told off by my boss for not offering customers plastic bags to put their multiple donuts in. ‘It can’t be that hard to just *carry* them, guys, Do it for the environment.’ But apparently there’s no room for environmental friendliness in the world of donut retail.
Well g2g, I’m off to work :D
was the photographer at your radio recording at the drill hall london on the 2 nov which was great fun…loved the song about pigs very funny, hope to catch a show at the duchess got some great shots for the bbc too!!!!
To Blake:
I really meant that i dont think
We get circumsised
You get circumsised
Why not get circumsised togethor would sound as good as.
We dont eat pigs etc.
Maybe i was wrong…
Your music has been with me through some tough times in America. I am a Black woman. I don’t have much hope for changing my stars. But hearing your excellent voice rock n rolling my troubles away… at least for a day… keeps me sane. I know you do the same for millions around the world. It was my birthday a few days ago. I turned 46. I hope to see you live again before I reach 50. I promised my niece (she’s always challenging me) that I would chase one dream this year. I hope I don’t sound too weird when I say, I want to sit in that future audience of Minchin fans and scream my head off for you again. My humble dream. Much love from Portland, Oregon USA.
Thanks for the positive in this sea of controversy. I liked your message so much I bought the book!
Hi Tim. Mike from Tampa here. Once you hit 70, you start thinking of things you’d like to do while you still can. My daughter and I saw your NYC TM & his Piano and London Songs the World Will Never Hear shows. Hard to to top that. Then it hit me. Dream big! Would you consider bringing back your Royal Albert Hall Orchestra show? I’m a tennis player. Your NYC and London shows coincided with the US Open and Wimbledon. It was much easier selling going across the pond to my velp, if I also got to attend one of the majors. Thanks. Mike
I’m thankful you came to Toowoomba. Watching real people with really amazing talent was a blast of fresh air, blowing away the junk that builds up from scrolling. Phew, you came in time. Thanks again xxxx
Dearest Tim, I just wanted to post a thank you / congratulations, to you and your team on the end of your tour; the gig in Toowoomba was the perfect finale! Thank you for sharing your new work with us tonight, we could all see what it meant to you, although I did have a pretty good view of your celebratory Hi-5 during the next number. I am just hoping that tonight you felt the love of an entire generation of students, from one of those special tax exempt organisations, here in Toowoomba. Starting them with ‘Storm’ in the middle years Philosophy elective, and always ending with your UWA speech for the Yr 12’s…I’m not saying that you are a ‘tool’, but you know what? You were a great tool! Someone, whose intelligence and wit opened the eyes of a generation, and more importantly, gave hope to those who thought, or were at a minimum, interested in thinking… Love your work – its importance simply can’t be measured!
Hi Tim, I was listening to White Wine in the Sun again today. It pops up in my social media memories all the time because I’ve shared it so much over the years. My Dad really loved Christmas — he loved having everyone around him. He passed away in 2019, on the 17th of December, at 80 years of age. He just wanted to make it to one more Christmas. Upright came out that same month. The song Carry You, and the series itself, absolutely broke me… but somehow carried me through as well. I don’t think I really grieved in the way I expected to until this year. Suddenly, it’s hitting me like a train.I really miss him. This Christmas it will be just my Mum and me. I’m towing my little 1986 Viscount caravan up to the lake at Wooroonook, Victoria, to try to make something meaningful of the day for her. She’s 81 now and struggling to get around. My brother, sister-in-law, niece, nephew, and even my sons won’t be there. It’s going to be a hard one. Christmas just doesn’t bring me joy anymore. But still, I’ll sip white wine in the sun, think of my Dad, and try to make a happy memory with Mum — because I know her time is drawing close too. I just wanted to say thank you. Your music has a way of touching people at their deepest places, and these songs have been a part of my healing more than you could know. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family and I hope you keep writing the kind of music that reaches people when they need it most. Thank you ~ Megan xo
Dear Tim. We went to your concert in Canberra tonight. We have to drive 2 +1/2 hours and stay overnight. It was very well worth that effort. There were many moments that made us laugh and cry and think deeply about my life and where to from here. We are in our senior years and enjoyed it all immensely. We have followed your career from the beginning and as rusted on nerds will continue to do so. I saw Matilda the musical live in Sydney and enjoyed that very much. Would love to see Groundhog if it comes our way. Thanks again for all the music and the chat. Loved it all. Love to you and your family. Coral
I saw your show in Brisbane on Friday with my partner. I have never seen a crowd so obedient to putting their phones down. We all desperately wanted to photograph the real life Tim Minchin for ourselves. Many took the sneaky blurry shots that will forever be the bragging point over Christmas dinner. The recovery from accidentally entertaining the comedian in the crowd, to the perfectly balanced sound was amazing. Thank you for giving us almost an hour of extra entertainment. Absolutely worth it. I’m so glad I saw this before seeing Metallica tickets. It would have been a hard choice. Probably would have still chosen you. This is a big tick on my life bucket list.
Hi Tim. Mike from Tampa here. My daughter and I loved yer show at the Apollo. Matilda at Cambridge there’s… no words. The London sites and a day at Wimbledon after 7 hours on the que. Could’ve been perfect, butt…You didn’t do Airport Piano, so this is all your fault. I had to do it. I’m a 70, mediocre singer, though energetic and enthusiastic. I sang Airport Piano at Karaoke last night. Sounds ok but… I live in a nudist resort. My 70 y/o 140lb nekid scrawny bod singing my favorite song. I’d include a vid, except cameras are not allowed…
Hi. I just wanted to say. I’m finally listening to “Time Machine” (I was going to do it sooner, but it felt so weird to do so right after Tom died. I felt like I had to listen to him for awhile first). And I got to The Song of The Masochocist… and broke down crying. When “Apart Together” came out it was not a good time. For anyone really. I’m in the US and it was just. SO BAD. And then that album came out and I listened on repeat. And it made things better. I would just lay in bed as it felt like we were in the 10th, 11th, 12th month of the apocalypse and would cry as songs like “The Absence of You” comforted me against the absence of the WORLD. Because that was it, the whole WORLD was a hole and it was missing and everything was horrible. And “Apart Together” was what kept ME together. And listening to “Time Machine”, 4 tracks in, and I broke down sobbing because I had somehow forgotten just how much hearing your music when I’m in a dark place, like I am again, can just mend me and make it ok. Even for a little bit. And I had always hoped someday I could tell you that in person but, I’m an American, nope, so here I am. Anyway, thanks. For putting this box here and for making all the music you do. I’ve been listening for a long time, and you’ve gotten me through so much. Thank you for everything.
This is silly because I don’t really think you will read it in person but I still want to say Thank you for saving my marriage! We’ve been through a lot and there are so many times I’ve just wanted to walk away from everything. It took me a long time to discover you (since I live in Sweden where “everyone” says “Heh, Tim who?”) but the two first songs I heard were White wine in the sun (which reminded me of the importance of family) and Not perfect (which reminded me that I am pretty nice and can stand myself). Your rock ‘n’ roll nerding makes me happy and your love songs make me sad and happy at the same time and I confess the huuuuge confirmation biases ? My 50th birthday was coming up and I felt trapped, old and unloved. I thought about spending it in Paris all by myself. Then you unveiled your UK tour! Bam! I bought tickets to Edinburgh and told my husband that he could come with me if he promised to try to understand WHY I really had to go and he was not allowed ruin it! He prepared by listening to the songs and our kids gave him “clues and keys to mummy” and he nailed them all. I haven’t felt so loved in years! And to be there seeing and hearing you live, sharing tears of laughter and touched hearts, feeling his eyes on me when I was ALIVE for the first time in years and holding his hand to all the lovesongs (including the boobs ?)… yes, you saved us. Thank you ??
…and here is the rest…

You gave me a great start to the New Year with BFQotY… certainly jazzed up the show. Loved the song. And the beanie. Rock on. Thanks, and merry hannukawanzamas. And a happy new year. xx
I havn’t got anything superbly witty to say really so i appologise in advance for being a bit of a time waster, I just wanted to say that my mum finally got hold of ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Nerd’ last night and I’ve watched it twice today and I have to say that you are the man Tim. If someone gave me the oppertunity to have a cup of tea and a chat with anyone in the world (seriously anyone) it would be you, by a mile. A very Happy New Year and hope to see you on your next UK tour =)
Hi Tim hope you are enjoying “white wine in the sun” with your family in Perth au.I was fourtunate enough to catch your show here in Perth Scotland (-16C this week) just never got round to thanking you for the best nights entertainment ever (other than time with the scandanavian twin nymphomaniacs”)
Good luck for 2010 Tim – not that you’ll need it of course.
Just wanted to say that I love everything you do and I think you’re… pretty bloody amazing.

Hi Ginger, (and yes I’m a ginger so I can say that ;D ) I am trying my best to throw my money at you by way of buying tickets for gigs, only I’m in the UK and have no idea where or when I will have the opportunity to sit in an audience and fawn over you while you make every woman over 35 piss them selves.
Tim, please please can you set some dates for a UK tour.
Chaos, Manchester UK
I am a ginger with a ginger husband and two ginger kids (can you say stock in SPF lotion). Someone sent me the link of the taboo song and my husband and I loved it and high fived. Thanks for speaking the truth my ginger brother!
Tim! You need to come to Canada! You’re awesome, even when you sing serious songs!
What’s your official Youtube Channel?
Happy New Year!
Alex
Hi Tim
Like the people beneath me here, I love your work. You’re brilliant. Like you, I’m from Perth and I write too but currently I don’t have any talent. I hope someday to plagiarize some of your stuff. Not right now because you’re too popular and people would figure it out, but maybe later on this year. Anyway, the goat’s eaten the washing so I’ll sign off now. Keep writing for at least another 3 months.
Cheers
Duane
Tim, Thank the fuck I found you. I so badly needed somebody new to obsess about since Eddie Izzard seems to have lost his mojo.
Hey Tim, you need to play at the Wolverhampton grand theatre or in birmingham or somethin in england, yo rock, your the best musical comedian ever, i’m obsessed with Angry (Feet) and Dark Side haha, they’re amazing, you have some real talent, good luck
Hey Tim,
I’m a great fan of your work especially “Darkside,” and your “Song for Phil Daoust.”
I just though you might want to know if you don’t already that your hilarious song, “Ten-foot cock and a few hundred virgins,” has been quoted by Atheist Ireland. Here is the link:
http://blasphemy.ie/2010/01/01/atheist-ireland-publishes-25-blasphemous-quotes/
You’re number 18!

Hello Tim…love your work
I don’t know if your browse the Youtube world like us mere mortals…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQMSic60oK4&feature=related
a very pretty version, if your reading this…
I suggest you give it a click!
Keep the music coming…your saving the world one crotchet at a time.
Hi Tim, so you have made it! Your a hit which is good, but for those who knew you from the beggining something will be lost… that almost execlusive quality as loyal fans pioneered the depths of the interent to find you in interviews for small internet channels. But hey its all rosy.
hey Tim,
get yourself over to germany and have a tour there, we’re waiting
over here!
Greetings from the Isle of Man! I was introduced to you by a hippy friend of mine (says a lot) and I wanted to let you know that this sleepy little island has a great venue and our own piano!! Come gig for us man!
Oh one question, my brother is a ginger, so can I call him a ginger even though I’m not a ginger? I am a ninja though so does that even it up?
Ciao
Hey, i was wondering, it does, if im not too frank, seem as though you hsve not come out with more new songs for a while i was wondering when? and i really loved your standup talky bit on “So fucking rock” i think ou should do more x
Hello from the sunny isle of Bute. I too, saw you on the Big Fat Quiz and wet myself with laughter. It was the best thing on telly the whole of Christmas! We are very much looking forward to seeing you on tour in 2010- we could def provide a venue for you (unlike Inverness)should you need somewhere on the west coast of Scotland! Happy New Year and hope 2010 is a good one for you.
Hey there, hoping not to bore you so just popped in to ask
if you know when the ‘Ready for this’ dvd will be available in england? just wondering because i’m currently not living in australia, and allthough i’ve seen it live, (which was AMAZING by the way… first night of the tour and everything!!! haha) i’d quite like to spend some money on it and have it in my house so i can watch it whenever i would like to… thanks very much for enriching our lives with your eloquently beautiful musical talents… (p.s before i go i would just like to say that i do find the song F sharp very funny… but i am a muso, so fit into one of your categories) lots of luck for 2010… Vicky xxx
Dear Mr Minchin,
I love God, homeopathy and you. Ha ha ha ha ha!
xxxxx
Tim Minchin makes me snort hot tea (given tea) out of my nose in a way that makes people want to know what I am listening to.
This is how we spread the faith.
Hi Tim. I saw you live last year in Brighton and was brought to tears (good tears) through laughing and emotion from white wine in the sun. It should have been number 1, you were robbed. I just wanted to say thank you for bringing a little joy to my life. Ta x
Tim,
Come back to England so we can show you some more of our special loving.
More tour dates please.
Tim- saw you in Glasgow in ’09, on the recommendation of an Aussie on the JREF forum. Wasn’t sure what to expect. At the concert hall there was a crowd of well dressed, middle aged or older folks (a bit like me & the GF) – and a bunch of younger and…more diverse types. The responsible citizens were for an orchestral concert. We found ourselves about the oldest folks among the oddballs. Slightly concerned about what we were getting into, I was perplexed to hear the “wierdos” in front discussing cosmology. Knew their stuff, too. Not your average stand up audience, the Minchin munchkins.
Hugely enjoyed the show – especially the sceptical stuff. I don’t know if you started it, but there seems to be an epidemic of rationality among comedians in the UK. If only it would spread to the politicians!
May your unstoppable rise accelerate in 2010 and I hope to see you back in Scotland before too long.
there is no god, but if there was, it would be you, tim.
Hey! is there any way i can sign up to something to know when ur playin in aberdeen i missed you last time and have been gutted ever since i missed it and i dont want to miss you again!
Lots of love
Leanne xxxxxx
We are avid fans. My sister made this piece of art, inspired by you, to us this Christmas. Unfortunately we live in the US, so we won’t be seeing you live anytime soon. Hope you enjoy the tribute. http://i.imgur.com/OKETb.jpg
Firstly I would like to say how horrible you are for making me cry everytime I listen to ‘Not Perfect’, secondly thank you so much for writing it, It’s so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your genius with us not quite so gifted as yourself. Your piano playing never ceases to amaze me. Last but not least the public need posters Mr. Minchin! Would very like much like to see you up against bedroom wall =] but a poster would be just as good.
Wow, I ‘discovered’ you about 10 minutes ago on youtube and I’m already your biggest fan! Hehe, no I just wanted to compliment you with your talent and great voice and amazing lyrics! Do you have something like a CD or DVD? And are you touring – will you come to Holland maybe some time? I would be there then, for sure! Keep on the good work!
Love from Holland,
xxx Sabine

I think its funny you thought your daughter was a lesbian, i think my friends baby is gay, but hes not hes just posh :D

Hey Ging, Come to Cleveland, Ohio or somewhere close! Time to tour the USA!
Hey Tim
I reeeeeeeallllllyyy hope you come back to the UK to do another tour soon, or at least come to The Big Chill festival again? And Cheltenham of course :)
Love Imo xxxxxxxxxx
So when are you going to make your post-apocalyptic song about the invasion of giant cockroachs. Which were created by a mad eastern european scientist with a hunchbacked assistant in a castle during a thunderstorm?
Tim, I was wondering if there were any chances of a U.S. tour in the future? I had a chance to see the DVD of “So F__king Rock” thanks to a friend of mine, and found your music and humor to be brilliant. Hopefully you have the opportunity to rock in St. Louis.
My professor introduced me to your stuff and I’m just gobbling it up. You are an amazing lyricist.
PLEASE come to Chicago!
Your songs are brilliant.
Im 16 years old and have been listening for 1 year now…
Your piano playing is magnificent! Come to Perth…
Western Australia is your home so come back god-damnit!
Hope you had a good new year and christmas in the sun :)
please come to glasgow, sir. christ knows we need a laugh. thanks!
I want to bake you cookies Tim i’ll draw smiles on them with red icing suger =D i’ll even make you one in the shape of piano 3D oh yess
Tim, though you may be absolutely brilliant, i was scarred, potentially for life, by your refusal to play ’10 foot cock’ at your gig at Sheffield city hall. To rectify this soul-destroying situation i request respectfully (demand/threaten) that you put 10 foot cock up to download as an mp3 on this site. You seem like a good guy and i wouldn’t want to take this to the next level, whatever that may be. Finally, i appreciate your love for England, and if i ever meet you, depending upon the place, time, amount of money in my pocket at the time and how generous I’m feeling, i may buy you a pint.
lots of luck in various greater future endeavors, Nick ;) xx
Tim, Tim, Tim…..
I have basked in your awesomeness for quite some time now, my loving fiance (who I have been with since I was 17!!) purchased the “So live” DVD for me and he is now a Minchin fan too….I am slowly converting all of my friends.
Happy New Year Mr Minchin!!
x
Did you know that David (former Dr Who) Tennant was on the xmas Desert Island Discs and not only chose White Wine in the Sun as one of his eight discs but ultimately when asked if the tide washed them all away and he had to rescue only said that White Wine in the Sun was the one that he couldn’t bear to lose. A man with impeccable taste!
Just watched the show on …my first minchin time….and loved it. xxx

Love Maddie xx
Hi Tim,
I am from Czech Republick – heart of the Europe.
Czech people do not know you, but they should!!! You are defenetly the type of person who would be loved there. I am alredy spreding the information about you on FB, but I am afraid it’s not enough.
Btw I think you are like The fool in King Lear. You are not afraid to say some cleaver thinks and you are hiding it by the foolnes :) The word need people like you to open the minds (but not to blow up their brain:))
Lucie
I saw you on E4 last night, please please come to Glasgow!
Hi Tim! I watched your live show on E4 last night. It was the first time I saw you peform and you were brilliant! It inspried me to start learning to play the piano again, because I quit after three years of lessons with a proper piano teacher. I started to play again today and I’m hoping I’ll be able to play like you can someday. I hope you come on TV more often and maybe you’ll even come and do a gig in Wales!
Cara xxx
Never heard of you before E4 last night.
Every young person on this planet should have the opportunity to see So Live.
You’ll straighten people out far quicker than a quack c……
At last, a solution to the Middle East !!
You’re a genius, and I, a fan for life.
I love you and your comedy…. and your wife for making you that way. You say a journalist says you’re ‘Peace Anthem’ is as funny as “a suicide Bomber”…The easy way to get around that is to write a song called ‘a suicide bomber’ and make it absolutely hilarious :D
Just a thought
Simon Xx
You need to come do a gig in Liverpool. Know for a fact you’d pack the arena and thats just with the people I told about you. Just a small bit of advice though, I’d put some shoes on before you come, its feckin freezing at the moment
“Your brothers and sisters and me and your mum
Will be waiting for you in the sun”
This is beautiful Tim. Some people may say that your songs can be ‘silly’ but funny!. But i couldn’t put my laptop down until i told you how much this song has touched me. The lyrics are unbelievible, you are a truely outstanding song writer. But what i love most about this song is that you could be having the shitnest day of your life and still manage to smile when you hear this song. Be proud Tim, your a star. x
saw you for the first time last night-what a tonic to watch a true professional at work-fantastic view of reality much needed today. will watch out for your next show with very VERY eager anticipation
well done Tim
Words fail me [when I try to describe how good you are] … but they clearly do not fail you. You have an absolute mastery over them. A true wordsmith.
I have been an avid comedy fan for half a century and thought that I had ‘seen ’em all’. Until now that is! Tim Minchin you amazed me. You ARE a genius.
PLEEAASSEE, come to UK again soon as (very stupid me) didnt know of you when you were last here.
FUNNY AND RELEVANT AS FUCK!
Tim you are the most exciting talent musically and comedically I’ve heard in years. You are destined for much well deserved greatness. Your piano skills leave me spellbound. Please visit the UK soon
Love
Paul
Tim, you are an absolute idol to me and your music and your piano skills are brilliant!
Keep going no matter what!
Your wife is the luckiest woman alive.
You’re a musical genius and I share your tunes with everyone I meet.
Tim you rock my socks and my shoes off!
Love love love
oXo
You’ve got to come to Hobart! Play at the Theatre Royal – the oldest theatre in Australia. It will be as good for you as it is for us. That venue is a beauty!
Dear Mr Minchin, What a most exraordinary talent you have. I was spellbound whilst watching your show on the tv. Your beautiful countenance and raw energy touched my soul, lifting my jaded mind from the doldrums. You are a beautiful man Mr Minchin and you have the most beautiful voice. Thank you for making my day.
Hi Tim,
Where have you been all my life? No that’s a stupid question coz to be honest for half my life you weren’t even born! Saw your show on TV the other night and my other half and I can’t stop talking about how utterly amazing you are. You have even knocked Eddie Izzard off the top of our list of favourite comedy acts.
We will now be hoping to see more of you and will certainly be buying your DVD.
Stay true to yourself.
Loadsaluv,
June xxx
Hey Tim, Saw your show on telly the other night and just wanted to post a message saying how absolutely awesome I thought you were. Was thinking though…….you’ve solved the middle east crisis (obviously), canvas bags will of course save the world from environmental disaster. What is there next I hear you cry?……politics? no no far greater, a tour of the UK including London…..Yep, that should do it! ha ha – Love you.
Yo Timster! I absoultely adore your compositions, your use of language and humour and I so fricking wish I could get to see you perform live! Its nice to see someone who has a brain and who isn’t up their own bum with self-importantness! yay for you! want a free holiday here in Cyprus?! lol! but any european dates booked for 2010?
heyy Tim :)
tbh i only started listening to you after you performed on jonathon ross, but you have quickly taken over my life! i thinkk sometimes you are a bit wierd tho :) could youu come to my birthday party ;) x
You’re too talented for your own good!!
How could someone possibly give you a bad critique on here?
I thought Jools Holland was the pianiester, but you are greater by far. You have made the piano and classical music cool, and that is an achievement in itself.
I thought Michael MacIntire was the funniest man I ever saw on TV… but… you have surpassed them all in a most amazing interdisciplinarity fashion.
You even have like 20 years on the other funny guys.
I was blown away by your show on E4 the other night.
Please come to Manchester UK!!
xxx

Heya! Just bought ‘Ready for This’ and loved it. :) It would be awesome if you came to the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend I know you have a solid fan base over here – especially at Westcliff for Girls.
Hi Tim, I recently became a fan after seeing Storm on youtube, now I try to listen to everything of yours I can. If you come to New Orleans I can promise you a large crowd. Also, to show you how to avoid all the touristy traps and get completely fucked up for cheap.
i watched 10 mins of you on e4 and im now a life long fan
YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Timmmm, you’re such a legend and your songs crease me up nab, was just wondering when you’re next doing a gig in London? gonna be getting your dvd/ t-shirts soon :D much love dude!

i was quite angry :P
coming to scotland in 2010 at all? :D if so, IM COMING :D
Cześć Tim! I would love to have a poster featuring you!I have been looking for it online but it doesn’t seem to exist. World needs posters of you! If I ever get one it would be displayed proudly above my bed. And I don’t think my grandma will mind cuz you look a bit like Jesus (she is strongly religious).
Anyway, love your music, love the lyrics. Really big fan! And by the way Cześć means hello in my language xxx
Mr Minchin (don’t know you personally and ‘hey mate’ is just pure patronising)I winced, whimpered, cringed, laughed and suffered double incontinence whilst watching your show on E4.
I actually stumbled upon it whilst flicking through the channels and immediately felt that the messiah had finally revealed himself in your…(difficult to describe you without being insensitive) unusual physical form.
Your prophectic insights, disturbingly accurate observations and poetic pontifications have converted me to become one of your devout followers, in a non-stalking sense.
So when will you be charting a course for Ireland? We haven’t gone completely secular over here yet so bring some bodyguards!
Hello, I’m not from London or Ireland or somewhere classy like the Maldives. I live here in Taree NSW, and in one month I have awesome seats to your show in Newcastle. I really hope you do a tacky Meet & Greet with fans afterwards, coz we think you are oddly fantastic. :)
Heyy Tim….. Just Wanna Know When Your Back In The Uk For A Tour?!?
Ilu x x
Saw Tim Minchin: Live Saturday night, was soooooo funny! Really hope you do a big tour in the UK, especially the South West :)
Hello Tim from Santa Monica, CA. Having recently discovered you via BBC America and your various chat show appearances – I downloaded your only CD available on itunes (why aren’t here more Minchin CDs there???) and you blew me away. You’re a real talent Tim – plain and simple. I ordered two more of your CDs and a DVD from this site and I eagerly await them. Any chance you might come to America? (To Los Angeles specifically.) If not, we will make every effort to catch up with you in the U.K. one day. Keep the faith…
MR. MINCHIN! Tim Minchin, hello!
Saw your live thingy on E4 and it was brilliant, you really are very good. Well done for being good.
Someone said to me today that your sister had her Gap Year in england, helping out at a school called CLFS. I was wondering if this was true. It was a while ago. I remember a lady called Miss Minchin, who was australian, who was also kinda cool.
But yeah, congrats on being good at stuff, it’s pretty neat.
Phoebe xxxx
hello dearest darling tim

Hi there
Can I just say I am really looking forward to the new “Storm” film.
I just love all that 60’s feel and the typography etc.
It looks so cool.
Good luck with it.
TIM!!!!!!!! you were in Denmark, WA!! thats where i live!!! :D
Hello Mr Tim,
I quite fancy finding out where you live so that I could come and bring you cookies (Maryland Double Choc Chip ones).
How would I go about doing this?
Tom
HI, Tim
me and my friends who live near Edinburgh in Scotland love you so much and hope that you can do a gig here soon
I am mesmerised by you…… love your work
Hey Tim :D
I’m 15 yrs old and kinda went to see you in Hammersmith (underage :P) cos i didnt realise it was 16+ till the tickets arrived. you should get that sorted ;)
but yeah, i first heard about you on E4 and watched that, so then i went to see you live and you were AWESOME.
Hopefully i’ll see you live again (when im 16 though, dont worry)
Sarah x
p.s. im hoping to be a singer/songwriter when im older and so far ive written 36. its not comedy though, just kinda pop/rock…
Love love all the way from the middle east. (I’m orignally from Philippines though)
Just heard about you from a friend and I’ve been hooked on your works from then on. They’re amazing. Hope you perform here in Dubai someday. :)
Oh…I’m a rock n roll nerd too. Although I dont play any instrument which makes me more of a nerd than you are. Haha.
Keep it up!
Love, Christine
Hey Tim. I’m 17 and I’ve loved your stuff for quite a while now. Me and my friends are quite musical, and I’ve seen how what you do has influenced them and me :) Sure we’re not as funny as you but it’s fun, and we have you to thank for that.
I hope you have a great 2010, and maybe come to Bournemouth again!? Much love xxxx
hi tim ,i’m 14 years old,i love your songs and your comedy there are so awesome,i love listening to your songs really loud in my bedroom.once i was listening to inflatable you really loud in my room and my mam came in and said what are you listening to,i was like ooops hahahaha.she thinks your songs are weird but she doesn’t understand your talent like i do and other people do.you play the piano beautifully i could listen to you on the piano all day.with playing the piano so long in dark side i think you should try and do a record on how long you can do the piano hahahaha.i like the way your ideas just pop up in your head and you write them down in a song.you must have a very creative mind.when i try to sing your tongue twisters in your songs i get lost i don’t know how can keep on doing it all the time hahaha.from melissa p.s hope you, your wife and your kids are well. x
I’m not 14, 15 or 17 so I still try to use readable English. Very glad the wife and I discovered you! Hope to catch you next time you are in the UK. It’s ok, you can use the word, ‘dodgy’; we understand.
Much prefer ‘White Wine…’ on ‘Ready For This?’ DVD (not that I have bought this – but I think it is the version I like on YouTube) over CD (I do have this; two of them). Just keep the piano – you don’t need the band to distract from your voice! Hope you enjoy the good things success brings.
Thanks.
Hi Tim
Just a little message…
Wikipedia, being annoying, and almost always incorrect,
are now saying you were born in Northampton, UK…
this is untrue i think, because you were born in Perth, WA
You should call those no good liars and fix that up!
Hi Tim,
Just want to know when are you coming to Ireland – really really really would like to see you live!!
hey tim,
how come your not performing is brisbane this year during your tour? me and a friend went last year and it was the best gig we have ever been to. and we were hoping to see you again. anyways i hope you decide to come back so the people of brissy can experience your great talent again. craig l
i love your work i got your dvd for christmas and i still cant stop laphing and watching your videos on youtube
hey tim i just wanted to say that you are brilliant and i love your hair i wish i could play piano like you but im pretty crap lol. i love all your songs but people tend to move away from me when i start singing 10 foot cock and a few hundred virgins or star singing fat children next to the fattes persine in class ok i sound like some wierdo obsesive stalker who has memorized all your songs off by heart but i havent i only know a few off by heart. well once again you are the best funny briliant peonist and comedian hopefully see you when you next come to the o2 in london. a big but not obsesibve fan Abbie.
Bonjour! Ive recently been introduced to your good self by my girlfriend. She raved about you and was prancing around singing your songs which lead to a few puzzled looks from me :) She first showed me “5 poofs and 2 pianos” to break the ice as i must admit i was a bit of a doubter..alas before the song was halfway through I knew you were my type of comedian, plus you wear eyeliner so get brownie points. Anyway, I thought I would pass on my praise and pray that you will soon venture to the northern regions of England pretty darn soon. All the best to you and yours x
Im the straightest guy u will ever meet but!!!! Im in love with this man! Really hoping theres gonna be some 2010 tour dates in the uk. Keep up the amazing work tim!
Just discovered you. You are writing the thoughts that I have in my head (only not quite as witty and well-put-together otherwise I’d have your act and be as successful as you).
Glad just to bathe in your brilliance, and look at your smile.
I’m with David Tennant on his thoughts of White Wine in the Sun.
xxx
I’ve only written “fan-mail” to two people in my whole life; Jewel and Tim Minchin. You’re inspiring Tim, you and people like you (funny, talented people) make the world a fun place to live in. Thanks for the laughs.
Tim, I just watched Rock & Roll Nerd and I have to say, you and your wife are just the sweetest people I’ve ever seen, you’re no racist, you’re a wonderfully talented person and I hope to see you play live someday soon! Maybe you might drop by Dublin, Ireland sometime soon eh?
Keepup the great work!
Isaac
Tim,
Please come play on the grass in Bellingham, WA state. If you refuse that’s ok. I’m not too fond of being from London and travelling to the farthest reaches of the US either.
Can you at least play in Vancouver BC? I have one of those little blue phamplets with my picture fixed to the inside… I’ll drive the distance.
OR, maybe I’ll stop being lame and typical in instisting you come to me… I’ll find a way to one of your shows sometime (suggesting that I absolutely will not be hit by a train between now and then).
Take care, and keep up the brilliance!
Timothy, come back to the UK asap please and thankyou.
Brilliant stuff. I’m another one that doesn’t add dorky comments on entertainer’s web sites…although I just did, didn’t I? Your humour and music are truly great and I’m waiting patiently in Vancouver, Canada for your concert appearance. And now I’m wondering…should I nip out to the lobby for a pee or save my seat?
Intelligent comedy at its finest. So nice to have something meaningful instead of the usual…er in addition to the usual potty mouthed humour these days. Come to Vancouver soon!
I’ve only just discovered Tim via a link on the “Science, Reason and Critical Thinking” blog http://crispian-jago.blogspot.com/ (mind you I think he got the Storm tattoos the wrong way round) but then I’m over 50 so I don’t catch on so quick these days.
Briliant!
Tim Minchin is the Tom Lehrer de nose jobs!
Hey tim, ive not long discovered you, a friend named Sam Mackintosh told me about you and, fair play you were great. I laughed my ass off and love your sense of humour. I’d love for you to come to brimingham or somewhere round there and perform :) I have to say though, your song Taboo, is aboslutely fucking genius. Thanks :P
First saw you at Secret Policemans Ball…so sorry for being newbies…

Intelligence and talent in abundance…love it!
Cant wait to see you live…however maybe not in Aus….UK soon???

Hiya Tim, if your ever in Newcastle me and my friends are definitley gonna come and see you live for once! Your E4 show was immense and I’m in the process of buying all your CDs! Keep on singing, your shows ROCK! xxx
Hey Ginger, Thanks for bringing light and laughter into an otherwise mediocre existence! ( I added the exclamation mark so as to exclaim that my life is rather mediocre, Just in case you were confused and thought that I do actually like it. Of course I bloody don’t, It’s boring you nutjob.) But no really, Keep up the fantastic work! On a final note….Only a ginger can call another ginger ginger!
Just watching Dr Zhivago and saw Tim Minchen caught in a time loop of 45 years ago. Very pleased to find I’m not the only one who thinks he’s a Klaus Kinski lookalike. Ahh..sanity is mine after all…
OMG you are f-ing amazing!!! i play the keyboard and i wondered if you could give me some tips please. i want to learn to play as good as you
you are my idol! i mean to play a song (that you wrote) wrong on purpose WOW! and in “dark side” that piano solo-AMAZING! where do you get the inspiration?! xx
I was just curious what kinds of styles you really use in your music. I’m a music student from West Virginia US. I’ve searched lots of videos and i can’t really find a style that matches yours at least enough to the point where i would want to learn it. But your piano skills are very inspiring. Any help.
i actually trained pigeons to shit “tim is god”.where does your ex girlfriend live? i just found you on youtube, love the microexpressions on your face, while playing. thanks and lots of love from germany. nora.
Happy Australia Day Tim!
I had a sexy dream about you last night Tim! You weren’t too happy about it though, it was pretty surreal!
You should come play in Nottingham some time, I’ve been spreading the word so you have plenty of fans here! Much love xx
Hi Tim!
Please Please Please can you do a tour in England soon! I will make special cookies! :P
Lots of love and i hope you are having a nice time in Australia with your family!!!
Kiera
Hey,Tim! I am 18, and an up and coming student for Studio Art program at the University of Maine. Just wanted to tell you that I am a pretty new fan and I absolutely love all your work. It’s great to see such an intelligent, musically inclined man who also combines that with his extreme hilarious-ness. I’m from the United States so we don’t have many people such as yourself here :P I would love for you to tour the United States and in particular come to Maine. NO ONE -ever- comes to Maine. Did I stress enough that no one -good- ever comes to perform in Maine? haha.
Keep on, keeping on you funky ginge.
yay tim minchin :P
Hi Tim, just wanted to let you know that i have to work on the days you are touring in Newcastle and Sydney so please can you come to Brisbane on either 28th Feb or 29th as they are my days off…and i really really want to come see your show…Cheers Holly x

Hello Tim :)
Just thought I’d leave a comment saying how excited I am about all the things happening with Storm and Matilda and everything really. I’m also hoping that your ‘Ready For This?’ DVD will be out soon, as listening to your album just isn’t enough. I hope that 2010 really is going to be a great year for you, you deserve it sooo much!
Good luck with everything, lots of love Hannah Taylor xxx
Tim Minchin is the thinking woman’s sex god
After seeing you at the Apollo in London, I can’t get enough of your songs & humour. Your CDs are on in the car constantly & my partner calls it ‘being Minchined’ every time I quote one of your lines!
Waiting for ‘Ready for this’ DVD to be available in the UK.
Hey Timmmmm,
Me and a friend took a punt on you at the Lowry a few years ago when you were, by your own admittance, unknown. i emailed you through your fansite as i’d had my purse nicked that night and i couldnt buy a canvas bag. you emailed back. *SIGH* i will admit however, we sat down and agreed if you were crap, we’d go and get pissed. you werent, we didnt. well, until afterwards anyway. Good work timbo, keep it up!
Hey Tim, You should come the Amarillo,Texas. Just found out who you are and I can’t stop watching the videos on YouTube. You’re piano skills are truly inspiring as well as your jokes. Keep up the great work! xoxo ~A~
COME TO BRISBANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Please)
Hello there Tim, first off, I’ve been a fan of your work for a while and I would just like to say that there is never a time when I watch you play and don’t smile/laugh/sit in awe. I think you’re a true artist, an erratic individual, and ridiculously popular – but the world will never tire of your amazing otherworldly skills! I love your style and your crazy hair and I think you should take it for a walk and please come back to Perth in Australia – we miss you!! Em xxx
I had a dream last night that you showed up at my house for dinner, then we hung out in my room and you ate a bunch of waffles on my bed. You kept on talking about how you were worried that being a ginger was contagious and that the orange would spread from your hair to your skin and turn you into a giant carrot. Then you decided to slide down the railing on my staircase, and I proposed to you, and you were like, “Erm… You don’t like guys, remember?” and I was like “Oh yeah. …Okay, fine, don’t marry me! Could you give me a hug instead?” You did, and I gave you some more waffles, and we agreed to go to a church and throw carrots at people’s heads next week. Anyway, I woke up and decided that it was the most amazing dream ever. -Much love from a 17-year-old lesbian! (Only one more year ’til I can pretend you’ve written a song about me… Hahaha)
