A true original. Thank you for sharing your genius with the world; you’ve made a lifelong fan out of this American lady
My Aunty in the UK went to get her grandson a copy of ‘You so F*****g Rock’ she couldn’t bring herself to say the word to ask for it so she phoned her daughter and got her to say it over the phone!!!
My daughter turned me on to you and said, “Don’t you think grandma would have liked him?” The answer was, “Yes, she would have loved him!” My mom was a professional piano player and her favorite stuff to play was silly, old songs from the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s, but especially parodies. I grew up listening to her play crazy, little, unknown tunes, then sharing with my friends. I have so missed her and can’t begin to thank you enough for working hard to become famous so you could share this great musical niche.
I’m an agnostic in southern Oregon, USA…Maybe , I’m the only one. Today, I listened to White wine in the sun. It was the first time since I played it to the most wonderful Mum a man could ask for. She left this earth, last January. No, I don’t know where she went. But she sure did love that song. I played it for her last Christmas, when she was so ill. I just want to tell you thank you, for putting a smile and a tear to both of our faces.
I bought a park, this summer. No, its a first for me. I bought it, because Mum would have wanted me to. Mum used to swim there, with all us kids, in the best swimming hole in Oregon. . I’m naming it Merete’s Cove after my Mum.Its one of the worlds most beautiful places. I’m trying to build a beautiful bandstand there. Mum loved music. I welcome you to sing there someday. I know its a little crazy. But including you, there would be at least two Atheists near the stage. Three including my sweet daughter, Brook, who also loves your music. Maybe I dream too big……. Either way, My family will be listening to white wine in the sun, this Christmas, and thinking of Mum.
Hi Tim – My wife and I saw you in Thousand Oaks on Saturday and said “hello” afterwards. We’re the couple from Phoenix who mentioned to you that I played piano and sang at her over the Internet and in return she married me. Pretty good trade, honestly. We made it back safely, by the way. Anyway I just wanted to drop a note to say thank you for such a fantastic show, and your transformative influence on my life. I’m very very very happy to be able to say that I shook your hand, and I’m very very very sad that I declined to be in the picture that you took with my wife. Come back soon!

Hey Tim&Co.
I first saw u(tim) @ moorabbin town hall in 05 and was soooooo fu***ng impressed-u r a genius. My sister thinks ur weird and even though i sort of agree, i still think u r awsome-kEEP IT UP.
Hey hey tim, the donut shop that I work at (Puffin Fresh Whitfords City, Perth) just started distributing Canvas Bags. Well not canvas as such, but those big reusable hard plasticy ones. I’m not too sure what they’re actually made of, but I’m very glad, because I was previously getting told off by my boss for not offering customers plastic bags to put their multiple donuts in. ‘It can’t be that hard to just *carry* them, guys, Do it for the environment.’ But apparently there’s no room for environmental friendliness in the world of donut retail.
Well g2g, I’m off to work :D
was the photographer at your radio recording at the drill hall london on the 2 nov which was great fun…loved the song about pigs very funny, hope to catch a show at the duchess got some great shots for the bbc too!!!!
To Blake:
I really meant that i dont think
We get circumsised
You get circumsised
Why not get circumsised togethor would sound as good as.
We dont eat pigs etc.
Maybe i was wrong…
Your music has been with me through some tough times in America. I am a Black woman. I don’t have much hope for changing my stars. But hearing your excellent voice rock n rolling my troubles away… at least for a day… keeps me sane. I know you do the same for millions around the world. It was my birthday a few days ago. I turned 46. I hope to see you live again before I reach 50. I promised my niece (she’s always challenging me) that I would chase one dream this year. I hope I don’t sound too weird when I say, I want to sit in that future audience of Minchin fans and scream my head off for you again. My humble dream. Much love from Portland, Oregon USA.
Thanks for the positive in this sea of controversy. I liked your message so much I bought the book!
Hi Tim. Mike from Tampa here. Once you hit 70, you start thinking of things you’d like to do while you still can. My daughter and I saw your NYC TM & his Piano and London Songs the World Will Never Hear shows. Hard to to top that. Then it hit me. Dream big! Would you consider bringing back your Royal Albert Hall Orchestra show? I’m a tennis player. Your NYC and London shows coincided with the US Open and Wimbledon. It was much easier selling going across the pond to my velp, if I also got to attend one of the majors. Thanks. Mike
I’m thankful you came to Toowoomba. Watching real people with really amazing talent was a blast of fresh air, blowing away the junk that builds up from scrolling. Phew, you came in time. Thanks again xxxx
Dearest Tim, I just wanted to post a thank you / congratulations, to you and your team on the end of your tour; the gig in Toowoomba was the perfect finale! Thank you for sharing your new work with us tonight, we could all see what it meant to you, although I did have a pretty good view of your celebratory Hi-5 during the next number. I am just hoping that tonight you felt the love of an entire generation of students, from one of those special tax exempt organisations, here in Toowoomba. Starting them with ‘Storm’ in the middle years Philosophy elective, and always ending with your UWA speech for the Yr 12’s…I’m not saying that you are a ‘tool’, but you know what? You were a great tool! Someone, whose intelligence and wit opened the eyes of a generation, and more importantly, gave hope to those who thought, or were at a minimum, interested in thinking… Love your work – its importance simply can’t be measured!
Hi Tim, I was listening to White Wine in the Sun again today. It pops up in my social media memories all the time because I’ve shared it so much over the years. My Dad really loved Christmas — he loved having everyone around him. He passed away in 2019, on the 17th of December, at 80 years of age. He just wanted to make it to one more Christmas. Upright came out that same month. The song Carry You, and the series itself, absolutely broke me… but somehow carried me through as well. I don’t think I really grieved in the way I expected to until this year. Suddenly, it’s hitting me like a train.I really miss him. This Christmas it will be just my Mum and me. I’m towing my little 1986 Viscount caravan up to the lake at Wooroonook, Victoria, to try to make something meaningful of the day for her. She’s 81 now and struggling to get around. My brother, sister-in-law, niece, nephew, and even my sons won’t be there. It’s going to be a hard one. Christmas just doesn’t bring me joy anymore. But still, I’ll sip white wine in the sun, think of my Dad, and try to make a happy memory with Mum — because I know her time is drawing close too. I just wanted to say thank you. Your music has a way of touching people at their deepest places, and these songs have been a part of my healing more than you could know. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family and I hope you keep writing the kind of music that reaches people when they need it most. Thank you ~ Megan xo
Dear Tim. We went to your concert in Canberra tonight. We have to drive 2 +1/2 hours and stay overnight. It was very well worth that effort. There were many moments that made us laugh and cry and think deeply about my life and where to from here. We are in our senior years and enjoyed it all immensely. We have followed your career from the beginning and as rusted on nerds will continue to do so. I saw Matilda the musical live in Sydney and enjoyed that very much. Would love to see Groundhog if it comes our way. Thanks again for all the music and the chat. Loved it all. Love to you and your family. Coral
I saw your show in Brisbane on Friday with my partner. I have never seen a crowd so obedient to putting their phones down. We all desperately wanted to photograph the real life Tim Minchin for ourselves. Many took the sneaky blurry shots that will forever be the bragging point over Christmas dinner. The recovery from accidentally entertaining the comedian in the crowd, to the perfectly balanced sound was amazing. Thank you for giving us almost an hour of extra entertainment. Absolutely worth it. I’m so glad I saw this before seeing Metallica tickets. It would have been a hard choice. Probably would have still chosen you. This is a big tick on my life bucket list.
Hi Tim. Mike from Tampa here. My daughter and I loved yer show at the Apollo. Matilda at Cambridge there’s… no words. The London sites and a day at Wimbledon after 7 hours on the que. Could’ve been perfect, butt…You didn’t do Airport Piano, so this is all your fault. I had to do it. I’m a 70, mediocre singer, though energetic and enthusiastic. I sang Airport Piano at Karaoke last night. Sounds ok but… I live in a nudist resort. My 70 y/o 140lb nekid scrawny bod singing my favorite song. I’d include a vid, except cameras are not allowed…
Hi. I just wanted to say. I’m finally listening to “Time Machine” (I was going to do it sooner, but it felt so weird to do so right after Tom died. I felt like I had to listen to him for awhile first). And I got to The Song of The Masochocist… and broke down crying. When “Apart Together” came out it was not a good time. For anyone really. I’m in the US and it was just. SO BAD. And then that album came out and I listened on repeat. And it made things better. I would just lay in bed as it felt like we were in the 10th, 11th, 12th month of the apocalypse and would cry as songs like “The Absence of You” comforted me against the absence of the WORLD. Because that was it, the whole WORLD was a hole and it was missing and everything was horrible. And “Apart Together” was what kept ME together. And listening to “Time Machine”, 4 tracks in, and I broke down sobbing because I had somehow forgotten just how much hearing your music when I’m in a dark place, like I am again, can just mend me and make it ok. Even for a little bit. And I had always hoped someday I could tell you that in person but, I’m an American, nope, so here I am. Anyway, thanks. For putting this box here and for making all the music you do. I’ve been listening for a long time, and you’ve gotten me through so much. Thank you for everything.
This is silly because I don’t really think you will read it in person but I still want to say Thank you for saving my marriage! We’ve been through a lot and there are so many times I’ve just wanted to walk away from everything. It took me a long time to discover you (since I live in Sweden where “everyone” says “Heh, Tim who?”) but the two first songs I heard were White wine in the sun (which reminded me of the importance of family) and Not perfect (which reminded me that I am pretty nice and can stand myself). Your rock ‘n’ roll nerding makes me happy and your love songs make me sad and happy at the same time and I confess the huuuuge confirmation biases ? My 50th birthday was coming up and I felt trapped, old and unloved. I thought about spending it in Paris all by myself. Then you unveiled your UK tour! Bam! I bought tickets to Edinburgh and told my husband that he could come with me if he promised to try to understand WHY I really had to go and he was not allowed ruin it! He prepared by listening to the songs and our kids gave him “clues and keys to mummy” and he nailed them all. I haven’t felt so loved in years! And to be there seeing and hearing you live, sharing tears of laughter and touched hearts, feeling his eyes on me when I was ALIVE for the first time in years and holding his hand to all the lovesongs (including the boobs ?)… yes, you saved us. Thank you ??
…and here is the rest…

Tim!! Please come back to Perth! I missed on seeing you last time :( You know we all want you back here!!!

Alright tim! I want you to sign me so i can get it tattoed, i’ll be at sonisphere, would be awesome if you got back to me!
So, i open my GCSE english paper and do some questions, when i get to the last question which says ‘write about a famous person of whom you either like or dislike’ so i wrote about you. And said that you are awesome and jump athletically around the stage in a rather small pair of jeans, and said i think they should google you. It should be interesting the mark i get on that. You better feel special, else i’ll jab you in the gums with my (metophorical) screwdriver. Cannont wait to see you in Cardiff. See you soon x
Like louise I did a music project on you. My teacher Mr Coles had never heard of you but after he read my assignment he went and watched all your video’s and now can’t stop humming your songs, mas. Thats right I gained you a fan lol
Seriously? Februaury? I can’t wait that long!
Come to Ireland!!!!!! PLEEEEASE!!! the o2 in Dublin is amazing…plus WE <3 Tim Minchin!!! Seriously though…. it would be great if you came here on your tour next year! However we have already got our tickets for your London gig in December! Love love love your music/shows! :) :) :)
Ohh you ginger legend! Thrilled and excited for the tour in April, hope the Edinburgh show goes ahead!!
Living in Northern Ireland and watching Wossy tonight I thought, epic gig in the Odessey or in a Dublin Venue.
Why is it that you are so frickin good and I am willing to spend big money to go and see you with a big ass orchestra.
It has to be done. Keep me a ticket for a mainland show lol.
My god man, get yourself over to Dublin will you. The O2 is perfect for this.
I’m offically a convert to your stuff Tim!!
Tim, I think your work is that of utter genius.
The way you can weave a story together while playing an instrument, and make hilarious gags all at the same time is amazing, Not yet have I found a video of you where you don’t have me busting my sides.
Keep up the great work!
CANADA. Seriously. Not eastern Canada either. Cross the Rockies. Come to Vancouver. It’s audacious and rather frightening I know, but we would embrace you as one of our own! And I can’t afford to travel anywhere you are playing… so it’s this or I survive on Youtube clips for the next few years. :(
hey, booked my tickets for 02 london, couldnt get front row, so u wont see my purple shoes, but i got front row on the next tier up – will we be able to get autographs after the show and a quick piccy? cant wait to see u – yr georgeous x p.s – ill be with the new hubby, but yr still hot ;)
Hey Tim,
I was introduced to your sublime comedy some months ago by an Australian friend of mine, since then me, my friends and my husband have become huge fans. We’ve just booked tickets to see you in Nottingham in December and are going to the closing night of Matilda in January with out children – who are also huge fans of yours although we have to be careful what we show them (they are six and eight….), however many times you explain that a swear word by an adult is acceptable they still glance at each other sidelong every time you eff! They are very disappointed that they aren’t seeing you in Nottingham so Matilda is the next best thing. Roll on December….
hey i got to say u make me laugh so hard it does hurt lol, your soooooooooo hot and yes i want to be ur stalker lol so where do u live and what kind of cookies do u like hahahahahahahahahahahahaha xxxx
Thank you sir for bringing bucket loads of laughter around me. You have a wonderful talent …. all the very best Tim.
Tim, I want to come to your shows in the UK but the £5 per ticket booking fee being charged by all agents is a scandal! And then they want another £2.25 to pay on a debit card! Please sort these rip off merchants!!
About the booking fee, for Nottingham I just rang the Trent FM Arena direct, no waiting, no mention of a fee…..got through to a lovley young man who sorted out good seats (my friend is partially sighted and needs to be fairly close….), try the venue directly!
Hi Tim.
Please do some shows in Perth….
We have just moved to Australia and missed seeing you in the UK – my friends have tickets for London in December – so jealous :)
Love your work!!
Anna x

Bonjour Tim, I just clipped my toenails at work.
I’m a french teacher.
Hey there, looking forward to seeing you on the 8th October. The last twice we bought tickets to come see you we fell ill and couldn’t make it. Fingers crossed for third time lucky!!
Tim, I love every thing you have made! Just love them. I have never ever heard anything else even close to the level of your material. The performance matches perfectly to the content. You bring light of sanity to this insane world. I can’t even start do describe how much I love “Storm”. Cannot wait the movie to get done. The Pope Song is another one of the absolute brilliant ones. The combination of intelligence, skepticism, science, humor and music is just unique.
I bet it is very difficult to come up with new stuff when your style is like that. I appreciate that you keep doing new material and it as good as ever before.
I’ve been sending links to youtube videos of your performances to my mates and every single one of them have been as stunned as I was when I first heard your performances.
Just wanted to thank you for your material. It has brought so much joy to me and many of my friends. And some tears too. I still can’t listen to the “white wine in the sun” without tears…
Thank you! Please, keep it up.
Thank you for “Storm”, it made me so happy !
My frequent flyer miles are blocked out for December :( So sad I won’t be able to see your performances then. Are additional performances to be scheduled in April? Any idea where/when?
Oh Tim…. One Word,
Genius
<3 Marry Me
If I weren’t an atheist, you’d be my God.
M xxxx
Cant wait to see you again when you come back to Australia! You are coming around my birthday, so what a great birthday present that will be!
Good luck with it all.
Looking forward to your show in the new year. My partner and I went to see you at His Majesty’s Theatre in Perth for our first date. “You Grew On Me” became our song as soon as we heard it in that first concert. We are now expecting our first child which has given it so much more meaning. Can’t wait till you’re back in Perth.
oh timbo, i have litstened to your albums time and time again and they still make me laugh, it is the stuff i put on to make a crappy day better, please come back to nz soon i missed you last time,
I am booked, ready and waiting for your arrival to Cardiff.
Just wish i could get my hands on some bloody back stage passes…….any ideas??
Would love to know what it feels like to be stood next to such a genius!
up far too late, but just watched “religion” – and like all of mine and Juhani’s friends – sat here opened mouthed. would that i could use words as well as you to express my utter disdain and contempt. you make a mockery of everything that is holy, sacred, spiritual – even jesus himself – and you make it so incredibly clear that even the most dimwitted, unthinking moron couldn’t fail to grasp what a stinking sham it all is. I hate you for being so incredibly f**king funny. i would probably leave my wife for you, except that she would surely lob off my testicles.
I had just the spent most enjoyable ( in your words – fucking funny) evening in bloody ages. On my own, kids out, watching some of your back catalogue. Now been on itunes and bought DVD and also booked tickets for your show in Glasgow next year. Put more dates in, because by next year you will have gone stellar. The Pope song nearly made me pee myself, have just put it on my MP3 player to torture catholics at work tomorrow.
Please marry me……..
Come to Sweden? Seriously, please please please? <33
I think you should release a poster ^-^ So I can admire you from the comfort of my own bedroom =3
I agree with Alma, only i think a gig in Norway would be awesome! Why dont you take a scandinavian tour? I’d really really love that!
You ARE a God. Keep up the good work. You know Singapore is a popular stop-over place. We’d love to see you here.
You’re amazing! Thanks for all the great and funny songs. Hope to see you soon in the states! I’ve been telling all my friends to look you up and they really like you too! First saw you on Never mind the Buzzcocks and thought you were great and looked you up. Glad I did!
Hi Tim, really enjoyed the Hay Festival show. Got tickets for Cardiff.
Just wondering, when you play Sonisphere, what bands are you looking forward to seeing?
Hey Tim,I just got a job in video easy in Lyttelton New Zealand and I found your disc, its fucking funny!I had heard ‘Inflatable’ back home but hadn’t seen anthing else so I was knocked back mate, good stuff.I will be back in blighty and booking a ticket for Nottingham in December, cheers old boy.
ps If you want any snaps taking I’ll swap you some pics for 2 tickets!!!(have a look at my site.
hey tim i know this is probably a bit different to what your used to but your music saved me i was a very depressed person but your music is so uplifting, inspirational, funny and beautiful your music just hits every feeling that i needed to get back on my feet so im just writing to you to let you no that i will hopfully be seeing your brighton gig in december and also writing to thankyou and i wish you all the best with you and your family, i hope thats not to forward coming from a complete stranger but thankyou.
Just wanted to say that I love “White Wine in the Sun”. It makes me cry and it makes me homesick. I didn’t grow up celebrating Christmas — I’m a Jewish atheist from New York who lives in Perth now and celebrates Christmas and Hannukah (but in a really secular way) with my husband and kids. And your song epitomises what I think Christmas should mean and what it means to me. Thanks.
I really love your humor, when will you be coming to Boston mass?
My F*#$@%n hero (sigh).
Tim! I saw you at Parr Hall in Manchester last year. You hugged me. Super, super night. I can see you definitely get inspiration from Ben Folds, I’ve been a fan for ages but not as long as you, I imagine. I think you’re brilliant, come to Liverpool! Manchester is so very far away for a Moretonite! You rock, Tim; you fucking ROCK!
Come to Singapore – there are 60,000 Aussie expats in desperate need of some laughs! I moved to Singapore in November last year and have had to put up with hearing how good your December concert was from my wife and the friend who ended up with my ticket. I’ll be the first to buy tickets to a gig in Singapore and I’m sure we can rustle up a few other punters…
You are God. Which is a little backwards considering the fourth verse of Take My Wife, but if ever there is someone that humans need to worship or be struck down by crazed followers – – you are it.
Thank you Tim, for making me chuckle at the end of a shit day, any day.
I turn to Storm again and again for inspiration!
Hi Tim,
Just wanted to say that (and I know everyone says this..and this…and this etc etc) but i am your biggest fan and I think so you are sooooo incredibly talented, funny and downright beautiful! Can’t wait to see your show at the O2 arena in London in December! Love all your songs ( and know them all off by heart hehe), keep playing, keep writing and keep being fantastic
Mucho love, Louise xxx
Hi Tim. I’ve just seen some amazing videos of yours on Youtube and I’d really appreciate to have you come to Germany, so I can enjoy one of your performances live. Just think about it.
I cannot wait to see you at Sonisphere :) You will be the highlight of my weekend.
Have an amazing time, i know i will xo
tim, you really fucking rock.
thanks for many loud laughs (not just *mas*) when all alone in the room…. well, hopefully.
just keep on with this brilliant stuff, there are way too little people like you on stage.
by the way, “white wine in the sun” just got me… thanks for those wonderful melody and lyrics.
all the best for you and your family.
I bend at the knees. Just sayin’.
Hi tim you did a gig in Reading (England) last year that just happened to fall on my birthday (best birthday pressy ever) but i don’t see reading on you to do list whats up with that? Keep rocking dude!
Hey! I’m thinking that you need to make your way over to Canada, because I think sometimes you forget about us.. Maybe.. Manitoba? Perhaps if you need help picking a city.. Winnipeg? Love you music sooo much.
Watching you on E4 (UK).
Bill Hicks you ain`t
Nor Elton John too
But actually, you`re not bad, not bad at all.
One thing though, YOUR EYEBALLS can`t be yours
THEY`RE JUST TOO GODDAM BLUE.
This is my comment, and I live with it…..You sir are a f**kin (spelt correctly accordingly! ) genius…..which explains the hair I guess.
Please please please come to london to do a gig soon!!
Happened to be on an overnight in London, watched a performance of yours on channel 4 I think it was, and thought it was absolutely terrific, so goddam funny. Loved it. Will look forward to seeing perform live next time, at home in America (Los Angeles). If you post your schedule, put me on your list. Thanks again for the laughs.
Hi Tim
Just watched your show (for the third time) and thought I’d take a quick look at your website. Found this page so I am going to take this opportunity to thank you for the entertainment you have given me. Cheers.
Would extremely appreciate if you came to New Zealand =]
Hey Tim,
I can play a few of your songs, including Ten Foot Cock And A Few Hundred Virgins (!!!!!!!!!), and Inflatable You. I would love it if you could check out my youtube channel and give me some critical feedback; there are some covers of your songs as well as a sonata of my own.
I have asked Linzy to pass on this message from Angry-Feet, so if you get that and it’s concerning weterr123, that’s me.
One final point:
I am currently transcribing actual manuscript sheet music for some of your songs to help you budding followers – will be available in a few weeks on the Angry-Feet forum
Many thanks in advance,
Chris
You best be happy, as a product of my bordom, i painted a picture of you. It took me all day, and now i have acrylic paint everywhere, oh well, it was worth it. Can’t wait to see you in December, you’re awesome. Watched you on E4 last night, but i swear to ‘God’ that they mixed it all up, the line up of the songs was completley different to your DVD, ahh well. x
Living in Switzerland I have to thank the world of digital TV for being able to see a show of yours lately on E4.
I’m very, very impressed. Great lyrics (well…yeah!), great vocals and fu**ing amazing piano playing. Being a Rock’n Roll Nerd myself (also liking Ben Folds, learned piano instead of guitar and writing songs that no one will hear…) I know what it means to perform on this high level you got.
Keep on going!
Oliver
You should bring your awesome self to Tulsa sometime, Tim. We’d love to have you. :3
dude you so fcuking rock.cant wait to see you live
inspired me to get writing some stuff myself
Greatest composer of our time.
vocaly, musicaly, structually (as in song layout) and overall performance, amazing!
The way you can change (seamlessly) the rhythm and sing a counter melody at the same time blows my mind.
Hopefully see you when you come to Nottingham.
